Yes. There is a label just behind the glass, on the right side of the firebox. It says it is intended for wood. (solid wood fuel).

SOURCE: i have a gaz fireplace Marco DWF36CF-3 vented and

Hello,
My name is mike. YOU DO NOT want to attempt to burn wood in a gas fireplace. The reason for it, is the venting is not designed for the fumes and high heat the wood produces. Only way you can safely burn wood, in a gas fireplace is have to make sure the piping and venting is set up correct to burn wood. Your problem is not most likely your stove or fireplace for the safety, it would be your venting. Thanks Mike

I have a Marco 792774B model fireplace. Can I burn wood in it?

It is not recommended to burn wood in a Marco 792774B model fireplace, as it is likely a gas-burning fireplace. If you want to burn wood, you should look into purchasing a wood-burning fireplace insert that is designed for use with your existing fireplace.

Yes, i can seem to get an answer on weather my Marco fireplace model # 7927740 can burn gas or wood. I was told it could do both?

The best answer would be to contact Marco or their distributer directly. I have never seen a fireplace that would burn both. I have seen dual-fuel central heating furnaces.

I would not attempt burning wood without input from Marco.

Wood burning heater when putting wood into stove lots of smoke comes into the house when door is opened.

It ain't drafting right or you have the damper closed. Look for obstructions in the smoke stack.
Wood burning tips
  • Burn only wood. No garbage, plastics, rubber, paint or oil, briquettes, paper, etc. Burning these items releases harmful chemicals into the air.
  • Burn Wise Program from EPA: Emphasizes the importance of burning the right wood.
  • Build small, hot fires instead of large, smoldering ones.
  • Don't "bed the fire down" for the night. Holding a fire overnight is a fire hazard and can create serious indoor and outdoor air pollution problems.
  • Open your damper if the smoke is dark. Dark smoke indicates more pollution is being produced and fuel is being wasted.
  • Keep your stove clean and well-maintained. Follow manufacturer guidelines; replace catalytic stove filters every 1-4 years. Have your chimney checked and cleaned at least once a year.
Use seasoned wood The best fuel for woodstoves is dry, "seasoned" wood. Seasoned wood has a moisture content of about 20% or less. It tends to be dark in color, cracked on the ends, light in weight and has bark that is easily broken or peeled. Here are some tips for preparing seasoned wood:
  • Split the wood to help it dry. Wood will dry out more quickly and burn best if the wood is cut to about 3 1/2 inches to 6 inches in diameter.
  • Cover the split firewood to protect it from the weather and stack it loosely in alternating layers, at least 6 inches off the ground.
  • Time must be given to allow the wood to reach 20% or less moisture required for seasoned wood. This process takes approximately 6-12 months. Think ahead and buy next winter's wood well in advance.
It is recommended an annual chimney cleaning to remove creosote build up and to identify potential problems. Things to consider:
  • The Chimney cap may be plugged by debris.
  • Catalytic combustor and baffles are exposed to very high heat and deteriorate as used. Replace every 1-4 years depending on use.
  • Stovepipe angles and bolts are subject to corrosion.
  • Gaskets on airtight stove doors need replacement every few years. Gaskets and seals are used by the appliance designer to control the location and flow of air into the appliance.
  • Check seams on stoves sealed with furnace cement. Seams may leak and cause you to loose valuable heat and reduce the efficiency of the unit.
  • Replace broken or missing firebricks.
  • Keep the floor of your stove clean of debris and ash.

Marco gas firplace

I have a Model 792864B. Before you attempt to light the pilot light - make sure that any wall control switch or remote control for the fireplace is in the off position. Locate the gas supply line. There should be a gas supply valve to turn on the gas supply. The valve is usually painted a different color than the supply line like blue, green or yellow. Open the valve by pivoting the handle to be parallel to the gas line, usually counter-clockwise. When it is closed it is at a 90 degree angle from the supply line. Locate the pilot light assembly - this is the pilot light. There should also be a red or black ignitor button and a black or green valve control knob with the words "on" "off" and "pilot" on it. It may be located inside a black box, mine is marked heatolator, that has a lift off top. Lift off the top of the box. Push in the valve control knob and turn it until the word "pilot" is in line with the arrow (my arrow is red) or indicator line. While pressing and holding in the valve control knob - it presses in about 1/4", press the red or black ignitor button repeatedly (once per second) until the pilot ignites. Once the pilot is lit, continue to hold the valve knob in for about 30 seconds and then slowly release. The pilot should remain lit. If it remains lit, press in and turn the valve control knob to the "on" position. The on/off wall or remote control switch should now light your fireplace. If the pilot doesn't ignite, turn off gas supply valve, wait about 5 minutes and try it again.
