SOURCE: seised wire inside feeding tube

You can replace the liner by removing the shroud tip, and pulling the spring (liner) from the machine end of the trifgger cable.
Liners are replaceable.

SOURCE: welder feeding or arking

Release the wire feed rollers, turn the wire feed dial up to maximum ensure you are well away from the earth clamp, pull the triger, you should hear the relay click in, if it dosn't check the 5 mil anti serge fuse positioned on either the front of the set or on the control panel near the wire feed rollers inside the cabinet. usualy covered by a plastic screwed knob, make sure the unit is unpluged before any testing.

SOURCE: hobart handler 140 will not feed wire

A schematic would certainly help, give Hobart a call and ask for a wiring diagram. or manual. Hobart are very helpful and may even give you guidance, you may have to pay the postage, they usually fax these documents so it will not cost you anything.

I took it apart and saw all of the contact points where corroded. I can hold the knob between two settings and the machine will work.

I have the same issue only after about a year of very light use. I am not sure how to prevent this from happening again.

I have a cig 220 I pull trigger to feed wire no wire or sounds happen welders fan is running wire isn't jammed and drive motor is working

first of all check the wiring from the machine to the torch then check that the thermal cut out light isn't illuminated, operate all switches and test on all settings, check the relay on the pcb and any contactors in there if all the above fails to find the fault then chances are a part on the pcb have failed

The contactor that controls the power to the tip (the heavy one) may be fused closed This interupts power to the primary winding if tip goes live without wire feeding.
. It may also be a shorted SCR on the control board if wire is feeding or it can also be a fused feed motor contactor- the small one.

The contactor is stuck closed, the trigger wiring in the cabinet is shorted together or trigger switch stuck closed.

Auto arc 4110 not working

Check wiring diagram to see if it has a bridge rectifier. My 120 had one and it was bad which would not let the feed motor run. It cost me about $6.00 to replace from Ebay.

Lincoln Electric Mig Welder-Fuse question

dont know what unit your uncle has but here is a easy test, open unit go to feed motor unplg the connector have unit running pull gun trigger check for voltage at plug ,if no voltage trace wires back (with the unit unplug , for your safety)probably will go to one side of main contactor.restart unit being careful for this is main input power.if no power main contactor is bad .if you have power at motor plug(wire feed motor) the motor is bad. hope this helps your uncle.
