SOURCE: miller bobcat 225g plus welding problem

If the idle is not working, then it is either you idle solenoid attached to the carberator or your idle board is bad. If you apply 12Vdc to the idle solenoid is should move, if not then the solenoid is shot, no good. If it works then you idle board is bad. Also, check to see if you are 60Hertz by measuring at the outlet with a frequency meter. I recommend a Fluke meter. You should have 120Vac and 60HZ at the outlet. If the frequency is low then your engine speed needs to be increased. The idle solenoid could be causing all these problems.

Take off shroud, look at where the positive lead hooks into the transformer. You may find that the wire has melted, If you are lucky, you can loop it tnough to make a fresh connection. (also check the negitive)

I have a miller 225 ac-dc welder gen it runs and generates but when running throttle speed raises and falls and evevtually dies and have to jumpstart is thes a voltage regulator problem ?

Sounds like a fuel problem to me. It starves for fuel and the governor speeds it up and then it runs out of fuel and stops.
Check fuel filter and pump. The line to the pump may be partially stopped up.

250. What causes it to run roughly and lose RPM?

The Miller 212 has a 60% duty cycle. So for every ten minutes of welding the machine is designed to weld for 6 min and cool down for 4 min.

Why miller bobcat 250 runs great and generator works but wont weld fuses are good ?

If your Miller Bobcat 250 runs great, the generator works, but the welder will not weld, even though the fuses are good, it could be caused by a few different things. Here are a few things you can try to fix the issue:
  1. Check the welding settings, make sure they are appropriate for the type of welding you are doing. Make sure the voltage and amperage are set correctly.
  2. Check the ground connection, make sure it's clean and tight. The ground connection must be secure for stable welding.
  3. Inspect the welding cables and make sure they are in good condition and that the connections are tight.
  4. Check the welding gun and make sure it's clean and in good condition.
  5. Check the main contactor and make sure it's engaging and disconnecting properly.
  6. Check the main circuit breaker and make sure it's not tripped.
  7. Check the power output of the generator and make sure it's within the correct range.
  8. Check the control circuit and make sure that it's not damaged or malfunctioning.
It's important to check the manual of the welder for troubleshoot steps and also check the warranty of the welder and see if it's still covered by the manufacturer. If you are not able to find the problem or if you are not familiar with welding equipment, it's best to take your welder to a qualified Miller Electric welder repair service center, they will be able to diagnose and fix the issue.

I have a Miller Syncrowave 250 DX and it has 3 fans, 1 come on as soon as machine comes on and after welding for about 10min the other 2 come on but they are not

Do you mean to say that the other 2 should come on, but are not? Perhaps you are welding using lower settings than before, and the machine just isn't heating up as quickly. Is there a point at which the fans do come on? Say thirty minutes into the job instead of ten? Maybe you were afraid to run it too long without the cooling fans on and so stopped prematurely, before the thermostat turned them on? Check fuses and breakers.

Bobcat 225 runs good but wont weld.Welded great one week prior

Hi:

Probably your machine overloaded. Check the fuses F1 and F2 and if they are open replace them.
Both fuses are located at left hand side of machine, open it and you will find them on the bracket. Check your owner's manual for an ilustration of it.

Hi:
Have you check the fuses? Probably your machine experienced an overload. Check your owners manual on the troubleshoot section. Here's the link to the manual.
