Toro lawnmower starts fine then stops shortly after. It is Toro model 20352 and it runs for a few seconds and stops. Temperature in the 40s and 50s.

Probably. Does it start after you push the primer and then die? If so, yes, it's the carb. For any more info, I'd have to have the model and type #'s off the engine. Dwain
SOURCE: lawnmower is spewing white smoke
white smoke means that there is water in the fuel air mixture during combustion. a bluish white smoke means oil is being burned during combustion. take another look and make sure which one it is. since all mowers ive seen are air cooled the only way water can be getting in the fuel air mixture is through the gas cap. check your gas tank and gas can for water. may be best to empty both and start over with fresh fuel
SOURCE: brand new honda lawnmower starts and runs fine then backfires
There should be 1 or 2 screws on the carb. You will probably have to remove the air breather to get to the screw(s). I've been seeing a lot of these types of questions, new equipment not running properly. Factory settings were not set properly.
When you find the screw(s), screw in a clockwise direction until it stops; DON'T SCREW DOWN TIGHT, JUST UNTIL IT STOPS. Then unscrew counter clockwise 1 1/4 turns. Try starting.
Continue this process, 1/4 turn at a time up to 2 1/2 full turns. If you forget where you are at on the turning process, start over by screwing back down. Then pick up process where you left off.
If you need further assistance, just let me know.
