SOURCE: Fossil watch dead

Get battery out again. Clean (scrape) all the battery related contacts using steel needle or small screwdriver. Make sure the battery is not underpowered. Refit the battery keeping the right polarity and set the watch.

I have a ladies Fossil watch #AM4168. The battery went bad on it and when I changed it out with a brand new battery and the second hand won't move. I took the battery out thinking I was sold a bad battery...

It is a common logic problem. The watch stopped working. You assumed it was the battery; hence your assumption was wrong. Therefore the obvious answer is that the watch broke and that a battery would not help unbreak it.

My fossil big tick has stopped working

Lots of possibilities. One is they put in a dead battery, don't laugh. I have seen this several times. Two, the watch has a problem other than the battery and you assumed the problem was the battery when actually it is something else. I have more but these two are the obvious. Find a watchmaker.

I have a big tic watch but after a battery change the digital number display on watch face no longer works, why?

Who changed the battery, you or a watch repair serviceman? Did you replace the battery bar after you replaced battery? Did you check and see if there was a second battery (some watches have two)
You may need to have it serviced. Or try Fossil at :

I changed the battery in my Fossil ladies watch and it still will not keep time. The hands are going around but it is not keeeping up with the time

mcdevito75 here, Just had the battery changed, if the watch was running fine before the last battery died, and now with this battery change the watch can"t keep time, try another battery as any Battery can be weak just from storage.

Fossil watch dead

1)Get the battery out again and check for power. 1,5 Volt batteries should be 1,52V - 1,54V and the 3Volt batteries shold be 3,1V - 3,3V in charge.
2)Take the hardened steel needle or watchmakers screwdriver and clean (scrape) both contacts off any visible residue till they are shiny. aaaaaaaUce dust blower to get rid of scrape-offs.
3)Make sure the contacts are touching the corresponding battery side only and not shortcuting the battery.

Watch doesnt work even with a new battery

The 2 most common reasons for a watch to not work after a battery change are:
1) The circuit is not functioning properly.  99% of the time it is not efficient to have this fixed.  It almost always needs to be replaced when this is the problem.
2) The oils in the watch have either become thick like car oil, or thin and now the metal parts are causing too much friction.
The 2nd problem can be fixed by having the watch serviced.  Servicing is usually between $50 and $100 for Fossil's depending on where you go.  This may not be efficient since most Fossil's are less than $150.
Stores that service watches are Tourneau and Precision Time: www.tourneau.com www.precisiontimeco.com

I have a fossil blue watch that isnt working. i have tried to change the battery and that does not seem to help.

take it to a jewlrey store, like sergios. They know how to fix all watches. I took my fossil blue to 4 watch stores including the fossil store in the mall and none of the stores could fix it. I took it to sergios they changed 2 batterys in like 5 minutes with no charge.
