Check the easy stuff first:
Make sure the needle is inserted in the machine properly- a good rule of thumb is the flat side of the needle should go to the opposite side of the last thread guide. Also make sure the machine is threaded correctly.

the needle is in correctly with the flat side to the rear of the machine, make sure to thread the upper and lower portions of the machine correctly.

the needle is in the machine correctly- all the way up into the needle bar, make sure that it is threaded correctly, etc. If this all checks out ok, take the bobbin case out of the machine. There are two ears on either side of the bobbin case- turn the left one to the left and the right one to the right. Remove the silver ring, and inspect the piece of metal that the ring came off of (looks like a circle with the top cut off). You have to locate the hook which is the piece that looks like a half moon inside the big round metal piece. Locate the tip of it, turn the handwheel toward you until the needle is in the lowest position, at this point the tip of the hook should be flush with top of the left side of the cut off circle. If this is not so, your machine needs to be re-timed. If that is the case.

SOURCE: Why won't my Bernina Activa 140 sew the blind hem stitch?

Are you absolutley sure you're not getting a problem with stitch formation on, for example, wide zig-zag. Check again, using a different colour top and bottom and make sure that the stitch is being formed properly with only the top colour on top and bottom colour on the bottom. It sounds as though the bottom loop is not being picked-up by the hook properly. Make sure you've thoroughly cleaned-out any fluff under the stitch-plate and remove the hook/shuttle and give the hook race a good clean and give it a single drop of oil, even if you've got the lightweight part-plastic hook/shuttle fitted.

up into the needle holder
try a different bobbin
make sure the bobbin is turned the right way in the bobbin case
make sure the bobbin case is inserted correctly in to the machine
if it's a front or side loading bobbin case

I have a Bernina 930 record, zigzag stitch it misses some zigzag stitches & does straight stitches

If your Bernina 930 record sewing machine is experiencing issues with zigzag stitches and straight stitches, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
  1. Check the needle: Ensure that the needle is properly inserted and not bent or dull. Replace the needle if necessary, making sure to use the correct needle type and size for the fabric you are sewing.
  2. Adjust the stitch width and length: Verify that the stitch width and length settings are properly adjusted for the desired zigzag stitch. Refer to your machine's user manual for instructions on how to adjust these settings correctly.
  3. Clean and lubricate the machine: A build-up of lint or lack of lubrication can affect the machine's performance. Clean the bobbin area and other accessible parts of the machine using a soft brush or lint brush. Apply a drop of sewing machine oil to the recommended areas as specified in the user manual.
  4. Check the tension: Improper tension can lead to skipped stitches. Ensure that the upper thread tension is properly adjusted for the fabric and thread you are using. Consult the user manual for guidance on adjusting the tension correctly.
  5. Test with different fabrics and threads: Try sewing on different fabrics using different types of thread to determine if the issue is specific to certain materials. This will help identify whether the problem lies with the machine or the materials being used.
  6. Have the machine serviced: If the above steps do not resolve the issue, it may be necessary to have your Bernina 930 record serviced by a professional. There could be underlying mechanical issues that require expert attention.
It's important to note that the Bernina 930 record is a vintage sewing machine, and finding a qualified technician with experience working on older models may be beneficial if further repairs or adjustments are needed.

I have a Bernina industrie 850 the needle is not picking up the thread from the bobbin

Are you sure you have needle inserted with scarf facing to the back of the machine ? If so likely the shuttle/hook timing needs professional attention

The cotton on my bernina 801 keeps jamming

Loops on bottom indicate a top thread tension problem.

Make sure needle is the correct size and not bent or broken
Make sure it is threaded properly with the lever UP.

Do a test stitch.

If it still loops below... tighten the top tension and do another test stitch... keep doing this until the stitch is balanced.

BTW... always grasp and hold both threads when starting a seam.

Bernina activa 210 won't zigzag and has bobbin issues on straight stitch

it's very possible that the machine is slightly out of time & needs to be service at a sewing machine shop
is the fabric & thread & needle compatable with each other?
did you use every thread guide when threading the machine?
is the bobbin in correctly?
is the bobbin warped?

Sewing machine stitches upside down!

Sounds like you may need to have the tensions adjusted. If the bobbin thread is showing on top, the bobbin tension may be too loose. If the top thread shows underneath, the top tension is probably too loose. Since you are having both problems, perhaps a technician should take a look at it.
