    Hello Frank
I see you have added more information to your question which makes things a lot clearer. That shading is there by design. You are scanning an official document so the shading is secretly added and shows it is a duplicate, a scan or photocopy. The same happens if you try to scan banknotes or modern birth certificates. There is no way to remove the shading. The only way to get a clean copy is to get a copy from the original source, a certified copy of the original.

SOURCE: Black stripes down paper

You remove the drum/toner cartridge and run the blue tab on top back and forth several times then blow out the slot with canned air, while it's out you reach inside with a soft cloth and wipe the narrow window above where the drum sits, open the back door and shine a light inside to see if the lines are on the fuser roller, if there you will need a new fuser.

I have a sf-560r. When printing or copying or receiving fax, the machine prints a small line near the bottom of the paper with some numbers. The numbers change each time I print or copy or receiving fax,...

Do the series of numbers look like a date/time and page number stamp? If so, you need to turn off the Stamp RCV Name feature. This is part of the Advanced Fax features. To access this, press Menu until you see Advanced Fax on the top line of the LCD screen. Press Enter then use the left/right arrows until you see Stamp RCV Name. Press Enter again and use the left/right arrows to select Off. Press Enter to save the setting. Then press Stop/Clear to exit the menu system.

Samsung has the User Manual for the SF-560 here: http://www.samsung.com/levant/support/model/SF-560/XEU . The direct link to the manual in English is currently http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/200906/20090617100814640/Guide_English.pdf . See pages 4.4 and 4.5 for the Advanced Fax menu information. These are pages 65 and 66 of the PDF.

I hope this helps. If the digits aren't the date/time/page number, I'm not sure what the footer text is.

Your public library will have a manual covering your mechanical repair. Moreover, they have the automotive shops online software called AllData. It is the best auto technician database available today. You can print out specific troubleshooting procedures, diagrams, step-by-step istructions, and soforth. The typical person cannot afford to pay for this service, just automotive dealerships, etc... that is why the public library made it available to everyone and for free to view and print out material. This should Fixya! Good Luck!

I get a paper mismatch when trying to print envelopes in Stamps.com, what can I do to fix it??

SPENT THREE HOURS DOING THE INSANE OVER AND OVER AGAIN. THEN I DECIDED TO TELL THE STAMPS.COM CONFIGURE THAT IT PRINTED A TRIANGE WHEN IF FACT THE PRINTER ERROR MESSAGE"Paper mismatch.” SHOWED UP ON THE HP MESAGE MONITOR.
I THEN CONTINUED THRU THE PROMPTS ON STAMPS.COM SOFTWARE AND CONFIRED THAT "ALL FOUR" ITEMS PRINTED ON THE ENVELOPE WHILE IN FACT IT DID NOT. THIS GET YOU THRU THE "CONFIGURE PRINTER" SETUP. THEN I SELECTED "PRINT PREVIEW" AND PRINT TEST ENVELOPE AND IT WORKED!! HOPE THIS HELPS. I HAVE NOW PRINTED 30 ENVELOPES,ALL OK.

How do I get a fax off memory recall? It kept saying load paper and I had paper in it. I unplugged the machine and then re-tried and cannot find it.

Welcome to FixYa. I'm the expert that chose your problem to fix.

First, let's get rid of the offending document:

  1. Print a list of documents stored in memory like this:
  2. Press function, then
  3. Press memory reference, then
  4. Press set to print.
  5. Find the document you want to delete, then
  6. Press function, then
  7. Press memory reference, then
  8. Find the document to delete by using the up/down arrows to select the transaction to be deleted. Hint: refer to your printed list to see detail, it will help you identify the document.
  9. To delete: press set, then confirm the deletion by pressing the * (star) key.
Relative to the paper issue you described, let's try the above then if it persists, I'll research it further.

Thanks for using FixYa!

P.S. - If you find that the solution/answer I provided led you to, or resulted in a fix, please close the ticket with a FixYa! rating. I would be very grateful for your show of appreciation.
If it hasn’t, please do not assign a rating just yet. Please post back as to what steps you took, results, etc, and I will try to assist you further. I am at your service.

Add paper message

you will be glad to know, this is not your printer's fault. We went round and round with dell support when we first got 150 dell 1600n's. We sent in copies of documents that were causing the problem. Finally, they figured it out for us. Embedded in the document was junk that was telling the printer to pull from tray2. All you have to do to fix the problem, is take the word document, go into file, page setup. on paper tab, select default tray for first page, default tray for all other pages, and apply to whole document. to clear the message, you will have to delete the print job from the queue, and turn off the printer, then turn back on, and you should be set. The message add paper, is really what the printer should be telling you, except that it should add to tray2, so you know it is trying to pull paper from the manual sheetfeed port on the front.(you could add paper there, till the document finishes printing, but our docs are hundreds of pages, so that is not practical. PIXMA 830 Smudges when printing envelopes

On my MP780, be careful to select the appropriate paper type; I was getting black smudges on the left side of my envelopes until I explicitly set that my paper type was "envelope" from "plain paper".
Another idea is to adjust the "ink drying wait time" to a higher level.
