The standby light was blinking 7 times pausing and repeating the 7 blinks. The TV will not turn on.
After trying the power button and channel button again with the remote, the standby light started blinking 6 times pausing and repeating the 6 blinks. The next time I pushed the power button, it went back to the 7 blink cycle. The number of times the standby light flashes seems to alternate between 7 and 6 but onlyu changes the cycle if I push the power button.
Each time I push the power button on the remote, the standby light flashes then the light next to media card port flashes once.
Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.

The power supply board is failing. There are twi integrated circuits in the horizontal drive circuitry that have to be replaced. The original integrated circuits are the same type and you will see written on each..."MCZ3001D" and need to be replaced with Sony # 670581001 or the "D" board with those parts on it needs to be replaced. The cost of the entire board is high-about $375.

I
have over 10 years experience in electronic tech
support.
I
know this isn't what you want to hear, but the problem you've
described can't be fixed with troubleshooting.
Your TV
will have to be repaired. There is a part that has developed a defect
and needs to be replaced. If you're still in warranty, the TV will be
repaired at no charge to you. The warranty would likely be at least
one year from the date of purchase from the manufacturer. If you
purchased an extended service
plan
they will repair the TV at no charge as well.
If the TV is no
longer in warranty, it will likely cost a minimum of $150 parts and
labor. This is assuming that you only need one circuit
board
or small part. If the problem is more than one of the circuit boards,
the price of repair could go much higher.

Unfortunately, what you're describing is a repair issue. You won't be
able to address the problem with troubleshooting. There is a part
inside the TV that needs to be replaced. If you're under warranty,
this will cost you nothing. If you're not under warranty the cost
will likely be a minimum of $200 parts and labor. However, be warned
that the cost could be considerably higher.
