You need to clean the carburetor. Remove and disassemble carb. Use a den Tek Brush, (used to clean between teeth), to clean the small portals in carb. Use a carb. cleaner while cleaning. Make sure the small screen in carb. is free of debris. The smallest of paticles can cause the carb. not to run right. Reassemble the carb. and try starting. If there is no change, then you will need to buy a carb. kit for your trimmer. Replace all appropriateparts: gaskets, diaphragm, needle valve, and the small screen.

you need to adjust the high speed needle turn it out in 1/4 increments as you throttle it, low speed may have to come out alittle but do high speed first. I had to answer this as I use to have a pastor john in sturgeon bay, miss him alot.

If you are certain that you have correcting gaped the plug then the next step is to readjust the low end idle carburetor. If you look you should see two holes in the plastic cover that lead to the flow adjustment screws they may even be out in the open. If they are not labeled H and L (the L is the one you want), check your manual for the correct one. A good place to start is turning the screw all the way in then backing it out 1 1\2 turns. Then check it. If you still have problems do 1\4 turns out. After about one full turn from that you might want to consider taking the carburetor off and removing the float bowl or the bottom for a good cleaning. A sticking float could cause problems with your fuel flow.
Hope this helps.

The high speed needle valve needs adjusting and it takes a special splined tool to adjust it. I currently am trying to find where I can purchase the tool to adjust the high and low carburator screws.
