SOURCE: Our toaster oven smokes and

We faced this "burning insulation smell" issue with our Europro oven.

It turned out to be the timer switch overheating. The best thing is to throw the oven away, unless you want to invest a lot of time. To fix, take off all the screws from the back, then pull out the rubber feet from the bottom, and remove all screws from there. The cover should now come off. (I assume you have the oven unplugged, of course).
Pull off the knob on the timer switch. This revels two screws, which you remove, and the timer switch should be free. You should now be able to get your hands in and remove the wires from the timer switch contacts. If one or both wires looks a little burned, throw the switch away. Else, put the knob back on the timer switch, and turn it on by turning clockwise. Use a DVM to measure resistance of the switch. If it is more than 1 ohm, the switch is bad. There is no amount of cleaning that will fix it. You will need to get a new switch. As others have noted here, it's hard to find the exact replacement, unless you want to order thousands. If you order the one that people say will work, note that you may have to get a new knob, file down the terminals to fit, and tap new mounting holes. Not impossible, but a pain.

DOES GE TOASTER OVEN MODEL 169051 HAVE AN UNDER CABINET MOUNTING BRACKET? THANK YOU !!!

If yours is the one with the rounded top it does not have an under cabinet mounting bracket. The top of the oven is not insulated so it would heat the cabinet above and cause a fire

My toaster oven has no power

This can be due to three reasons:
1. It can be fault in the wire to the oven, if the plug is faulty or the wire has opened out.
2. Secondly if the switch to activate the heating coil is bad it will not connect the power to the coil
3. Finally if the coil is OPEN , then it can be checked using a multimeter as also the wire connection to the heating coil.

My toaster oven stopped heating all together.

your heating element has gone bad or there is some bad wiring in the oven itself

to check open up the toaster oven and look at the wires coming from the heating elements inside to the timer on the front panel if there is no bad wiring then the heating elements are bad and the toaster oven needs to be replaced

The toaster (upper) part of our 4-slice toaster oven model 6067 suddenly stopped working after several months of using it consistently. Will return it to Target but hoping it's an easy fix. We kind of like...

Hi there. I just repaired mine. The wire connected to left side (as you are looking at the front of the toaster) of the front top heating coil had come off. I replaced all four of the crimps going to each side of each of the top two heating coils as well as the wire going between the front and back coils on the left side. Make sure that you use HIGH TEMP crimps and HIGH TEMP wire. I had the crimps and purchased the wire from a ma and pa repair shop here in my town1_24_2012_10_47_09_pm.jpg

Light turns on, but no heating.

Pull apart again. you will see leads insulated with cloth-like insulation. feel for a bulge or two - usually a fuse is hidden in one of those insulations. Find it test it for continuity. If flown, cut it out, replace or just short out that connection.

Burnt pie

YES YOU ARE your trying to bake something in a toaster oven :) toaster ovens have two modes toast /bake in this mode top and bottom elements get hot .and broil in this mode only the top elements get hot . the problem is the marketing the word OVEN makes you think of a normal oven that the bottom elements do all the work . toaster ovens work well melting stuff and toasting . thats about it . if you must bake in it try placeing a sheet of foil on top of your baked goods it might insulate the top of you food . good luck ... if this answer helped please rate it a 3 or 4 stars , this high rateing will help keep me in the paid answer department , thank you

Top element not heating

I found that the heating element in the top front was burned off at the end. I removed the side cover and the ceramic insulator from the broken end. I then grabbed the broken end of the spring inside the glass tube and stretched it to where I could re-attach it to the connector. It now works after getting it back together.
If you attempt this repair, UNPLUG THE OVEN FIRST!
There is also a security screw at the bottom of the side cover.
