SOURCE: TFX24PRXBWW GE Profile Refrigerator - energy use?

I dont know how to locate these specs for you, modern refrigerators are much more efficient for a couple of reasons. Most new units have a Computer that controls the defrost cycle whereas older units have timers that defrost every 8 hours of on comp run time regardless of whether it needs defrosting. The new ADC (adaptive defrost control) can better monitor the frost on the coils to defrost less (in the defrost cycle it consumes 5x as many watts as when its cooling. Also most new refrigs, especially new GE units have much more efficient fan motors now also, however they too are computer controlled and when they fail they are expensive. Also the very high end new Counter depth models (in the $2500+ range) have a new variable speed compressor. This gives the compressor the ability to run at a low, med, and high speed, reducing even more the watts that will be drawn in normal operation when the fan motors are on low and the compressor too. If you have any other questions let me know ill be glad to advise.

P.S. Buy an extended warranty with any new appliance you purchase! Trust me!

SOURCE: where is the thermostat on a GE profile refrigerator Side-by-Side

There is no thermostat ( cold control ) on your model refrigerator . It works off thermistors ( 3 in the refrig section and 2 in the freezer section ) . These thermistors , operate by the coldness which in turn , less resistance to the main control board the colder or warmer it will provide .

SOURCE: ge profile refrigerator door stop isn't working

Did it ever work or for some reason you never noticed it before? I've had to swap the door stops to get the door to stop. They can usually be swapped around according to what's needed in different situations.

Refrigerator not cold

Your problem could be a defrost component issue (e.g.: defrost thermostat, defrost heater(s) or defrost timer). Contact an appliance service company.

Not getting any water out of the dispenser, but its making ice

The water dispenser on my GE profile fridge stopped working for a couple days. The refrigerator and freezer temperatures have fluctuated over the past several months causing fridge items to periodically freeze and freezer items to periodically thaw. GE tech came today identified a bad circuit board, which he replaced for a cool $300. Ouch. Fridge is only three years old. Oh yeah, the icemaker also has a broken tab which causes it to jam every couple weeks. We have GE Profile appliances throughout our kitchen and they all work great except for the fridge :-( I hope GE engineers read this post. If so, get to work! LOL

GE Profile Refrigerator makes small amount of ice

first of all ....There may be a problem in your thermostat......

no2- your black compressor behond is not functioning fully...or there may be a gas leak out in the refrig....

you cal also check it with touching the pipes behind whether it is hot or cold

it should be very cold ...then it is functioning fully....

Verify you have voltage at your fan. If you have voltage and the fan is not running then it will need to be replaced.
