If it is a relatively new unit it should have the carburetor adjusted after the first few hours of use. If it stalls upon accelleration the low speed adjustment on the carb needs to be opened a little bit. If it runs a few minutes and then stalls it could be the high speed jet needs to be opened or the fuel filter is clogged.

Will not run

Hi Frank, The only 3 main things to go wrong are Fuel, Fire and air. If it's firing ok with a spark and you have changed the carbueretor check the air filter isn't blocked with old oil and grass. Wash it in warm soapy water and then dry thouroghly. You could check if it runs without the air filter on. You must also make sure that fuel is getting into the block. Any problems get back to us. My Gas Powered Ryobi String Trimmer (RY26500B) won't start. What should I try??

Here are the basics. You need: spark, fuel, air, compression, and timing to make it run. Clean the spark plug. Inspect the fuel lines. Are the hard/brittle? Do they connect to the filter in the gas tank? Clean the air filter. When the spark plug is out, put your finger over the opening and gently pull the rope. Do you have compression?
Most common repairs needed are usually fuel lines and carburetor work.

Ryobi 725r leaks gas from air filter and will cut out after starting up

This is a problem with most ryobi tools. From what i've read over time the gas lines shrink and need to be replaced. You'll need to replace both the lines coming from the carb to engine and the one connecting to your primer bulb. I hear there is a kit that contains both the primer bulb and fuel lines for this exact problem.

Ryobi 25cc grass timmer, cuts out when full throttle applied

Are you running a gas/oil mix? If you are try making sure you didnt add too much oil (will usually smoke) and will possibly stall. Your air fuel mixture may be off and need adjusting too.

Ryobi 775r gas trimmer stalling when tilted

You have a air leak between to tank and motor. Could be carb gasket. When using in tilted position you dont have gravity feeded carb anymore, causing air to be sucked into carb. Take off carb and spray with crb cleaner, then blow out with air gun. Replace gasket, make sure all new lines and bulb connections are connected securely.
