The point is usually only lost when the battery goes flat or is faulty. Make sure the battery gets changed at the regular interval (usually around 3 to 5 years on most models). I haven't worked on your model but most had an internal battery that is changed by a dealer during service to preserve the memory during power outages. You may be able to reset the decimal point yourself. I have seen a manual on the net:
