‘I have a onkyo av receiver Tx-sr309 that is stuck on BD/DVD mode and no other keys/buttons on the receiver nor the remote functions. Not possible to do factory reset as well. Kindly help’ Of course, no reset is allowed due to single task MPU.

This is a very easy issue to fix and a common faulty situation found in onkyo AV-amp. If you want to know how to fix, just send an email to me if you want. It is up to you to do so and email will be deleted after ONE week. I won‘t tell you here due to buying faulty AV amps to repair and sell them out on web.

SOURCE: Subtitle Problem: Onkyo TX-sr605

The only remote that will definitely turn the sat subtitles on/off is the sat remote. The other subtitle buttons on the other remotes refer to the DVD subtitles and the subtitles generated by the tuner in the tv. The subtitle option is greyed out on the tv because you are not on the tv tuner.

SOURCE: stuck in protect mode

i believe protect mode is because you have the wrong impedence speakers, they are too low (4 ohm? 6 ohm?) it chols work with 8 ohm speakers

SOURCE: Remote control via RI terminal on Onkyo Receiver

Not sure I can solve, but maybe help. I am having a similiar problem. However, make sure you Analog Audio (RCA type) cable are connected even if using Digital connection between the two. They use those cable to send the Commands (Mentioned in the documentation).
If you did get yours to work, please give me a hint... I upgraded mine from a 603 to a 701 and haven't been able to get it to work since.

Onkyo TX-SR 805 flashes message "Test - < - 42" when switched on at power button.

Hello, you seem to be in technician test mode. Unplug the receiver for an hour, turn on and perform a reset by holding vcr/dvr and then on/standby. This should resolve your issue. Thank you, Onkyo USA

Onkyo TX-SR309 - Sound output only from 2 speakers from five. Hi, I have a Onlyo TX-SR309 receiver connected to a Wharefedale MS100HCP speaker package. It was working fine for 15 months but now the...

Some info from the manual:
The Dolby Digital and DTS listening modes can only be selected if your Blu-ray Disc/DVD player is connected to
the AV receiver with a digital audio connection (coaxial,
optical, or HDMI).
• The listening modes you can select depends on the format of the input signal. To check the format, see "Displaying Source Information"
• While a pair of headphones is connected, you can select the following listening modes: Mono, Direct, and Stereo.
• While Speakers A and B are on, you can select only the
Direct, Stereo, Mono, or T-D (Theater-Dimensional) listening mode.

Plus this Bit of info on the speakers A and B buttons.
While Speakers B is on, channels are reduced to 2.1 in the
main room.

If you can access the speaker configuration it should provide test tones to each speaker. If you can't the speaker A and B are not set right.
If you have pressed the stereo or mono button no sound will be heard except from the front two or the sub.

How to program remote control?

Your Onkyo TX-SR304 receivers remote (RC-645S) is not capable of controlling devices by other manufacturers. It controls only Onkyo devices.
Other Onkyo remotes do have universal remote functionality and you can download Onkyo remote codes here.

I hope that helps.

Onkyo remote won't control Samsung components.

I got an Onkyo RC-717M remote control. It is the remote that comes with the Onkyo TX-SR706 receiver. It is a learning remote. When i entered the cde for the Samsung Blu-Ray it did the same thing as the other remotes I got from Onkyo, the pause, next / previous track buttons wouldn't work for the Samsung BD-P3600. I used the learning function of the new remote and programmed it to work. It works ok now but it sure was a hassle to get it done. In fairness i should have called Onkyo support but their support hours don't match my schedule.
