    I also have the acer 5100 and the front switch to turn Bluetooth on and off is not functioning . Please help

My Acer 5100 has a bluetooth switch that would say "bluetooth enabled" and "disabled" when I switched the switch. No external bluetooth was connected. Just recently it said "no bluetooth found". This is new. Did it get erased, diconnected, or somthing else. I've read threads saying "it never had one". How come the green words changed ?

A lot of Acer laptops will have a bluetooth switch. This does not mean that the laptop has a bluetooth wireless adapter. If you use the switch and it says "No Device Found" in green letters across your lower left part of your screen you do not have bluetooth.

The acer 5100 has a blue tooth control switch but not an installed adapter. You'll have to purchase the adapter separately.

Hi,

This do not have Inbuilt Bluetooth Function. This Model only have Bluetooth Module. If you wish, you could Purchase a Bluetooth Kit and have that Function installed :-

Most of the Acer Models do not have Inbuilt Bluetooth. Usually i would say, use Bluetooth Toggle, rather than Purchasing a kit. A Bluetooth toggle is just like a Pen Drive.You need to install the CD and load the software. Once Loaded, insert the Toggle in the USB of the Computer and synchronize it with other device.

Same problem, bluetooth not working
Hello sushma_visha,

Sadly, the Acer Aspire 5100 notebook computer only has an 'optional' bluetooth module. However, a bluetooth usb adapter can be installed to add bluetooth functionality. Here is a link to the Acer Aspire 5100 specifications web page. My 3512wlmi also had a bluetooth button but when pressed I got the message, no device, if you get this message you don't have bluetooth but a upgrade is possible.

If you have a bluetooth button at the front it doesnt mean its inbuilt, most Acer laptops don't have it although the button is there.
assuming you have set up the bluetooth correctly
Your model does list it has inbuilt but, if it is the light should flicker, you should also check the latest driver

I Also have the Aspire 5310 and when you press the bluetooth launch button it says 'No Bluetooth Device', this is becasuse it does not have the Bluetooth card installed into this computer and this is an extra for your laptop... hope this helped.
