Either the bearings are frozen, or motor is weakening and has hard turning belt and tub/agitiator

Kenmore washer oil leak

That is a transmission issue. Once it starts leaking oil. The gearcase needs to be replace along with the clutch and coupler. The repair should run you about 150-250 dollars in parts. But I do believe it is worth the repair. If you are above average with tools and repair it can be done in about 30-45 mins and will allow you was to last longer than any new washer you can buy.

Kenmore 80 Model #11020802990 Won't Spin!!

i think you have a basket drive tube problem, what happened to mine was the thrust washer had ground off the bottom of my tube, the clip that holds the brake release arm fell off,the arm fell down breaking the 2 little pins on it, without that arm on the tube it won't release the brake allowing the basket to spin, you would have to remove the tranny to see if there is a problem there,,,,,also the top of the tube there is 2 notches that line up in your drive block, could be broken there,,,,you would have to remove the agitator to check there!

Washer fills with water but will not continue with the wash cycle. There is power to the machine because I can her an electrical humming when I try to start the cycle.

If the water in the machine empties when you move the selector to spin but does not spin, you may have a machine that uses a coupler to connect the motor to the transmission (many Kenmore models and others). When the coupler fails, and they do, then everything will work except for the agitator. If this is the case, you can see it if you flip the unit over and look.

Washer souds like trying to engage but won't

If the motor hums and will not pump out or spin, the motor is bad. It reverses direction and the reverse windings appear to be burned out.

Motor is humming loudly.

Motors hum, and your right, it could be no worse than normal.

I would be suspect that there is a gear stripped in the gearcase, since this is a direct drive washing machine.

Reassemble the motor back onto the washer. Run it through a cycle manually (rotate the timer by hand) until the motor turns, then look to see if it's turning. If it is, or even more so, if it pumps water out of the tub, then it is probably the stripped out gearcase.

Top load washer -- no spin during spin cycle

Sounds like you a broken coupler. This is what makes the washer spin. You can check this by leaning the machine back and feeling for a rubber coupler between the motor and transmission. if this part wiggles or is missing replace it, its broke. Another sign of it being broke is rubber under the machine when you tilt it back. If the coupler is ok replace the clutch.

Whirlpool Washer LSR7233BQ2 Buzzes/Humms during spin cycle...no movement

No belt on your machine. Sounds like motor coupler that joins motor and transmission is broken. Very inexpensive part but a few steps involved in getting machine disassembled Look up YouTube video on replacing motor coupler on Whirlpool washer.

Loud clicking during spin, won't spin full speed

manofred, you either have something in your pump or the coupler is starting to break up. Tip the washer back and take a look. See if there is a bunch of black debris under the trans. If so, your coupler is failing. The pump will come off with 2 clips and 2 clamps. Check to see if something is in the impeller. Check the attachments....Catriver...post back.
