My icemaker will run water after the bin has been emptied, it freezes in the bin and after a while will start freezing ice normally. In the meantime, I have glaciers throughout the freezer. It is a side by side.

Ice maker not dumping ice

It could be the harvest thermostat or the mold heater is bad on the icemaker. It is usually better to just replace the icemaker. Installing a harvest thermostat is a but tricky and the mold tray is 3/4 of the icemaker anyway..

Sub zero 532, ice maker issue. water enter the cube bin freeze into a block of ice with the cubes embedded. What is the cause of this issue?

There is a few things that you will need to check to isolate the problem. this first thing is locate the fill tube where the water comes into the ice maker. What you are looking for is any ice frozen inside causeing an overspray of sorts. If that checks good, then the next thing is look at the icemaker itself. Look at where the water goes to and freezes. Is it completely full of frozen water? if so then the water valve is sending too much water either because the ice maker called for it or the valve stuck and didn't close when it was supposed to. If its not full, look at the bottom of the ice maker, checking if there are any cracks allowing water to fall into the bin. My personal opinion though would be to change the ice maker and the water valve because of the age of the machine. the bad part is the actual icemaker for that model has been discontinued but I believe you can use a whirlpool style that matches, comes in a kit that has both the water valve and icemaker, and cost almost half the price as the original. that part number is 1129313

Icemaker continues to run water for several minutes

Change your icemaker module. It is getting stuck in the fill position. They are about 50 dollars or so and are held on with 3 screws normally.

Ice maker overfills and leaks into the ice bin.

I have had a similar problem several times. What I have found is that the ice tray coating has begun to flake off. Then, the ice sticks or partially dumps. Next more ice builds up and when the valve opens the water runs over the partially emptied tray and spills into the bin making "icebergs". The remedy is to replace the tray or if that is not possible, then, the whole icemaker. In fact, I have one down stairs to put in tomorrow. They don't seem to last more than about 4 years or so.

GE Monogram Ice Maker makes ice, unit doesn't cool enough

This model Icemaker makes ice by flowing water across a freeze plate. It is located in the top of the unit behind the white cover directly below the ON/OFF/CLEAN switches. After freezing a sheet of ice it releases and slides to the cutting grid. It then drops into the ice bin and begins to melt and the whole process starts over again. The level of ice in the bin is controlled by the high level sensor on the right side of the ice bin. It is a whit tube with two wires coming out of the top. Without this sensor it can overrun the bin capacity. Bottom line this unit does not freeze ice, it only holds it like cooler does.

Water line to water dispenser is freezing up inside the freezer

Try using an hairdryer or defrosting the unit completely , this often get rid of blockage caused by frozen lines fixing the problem.

The water lines can also be unblocked from dirt using a thin flexible shaft. This after defrosting.

If all that does not fix the problem, then you may need to replace the water valve, the icemaker solenoid, or the whole icemaker assembly.

Doesn't fill up

sounds like the ice is not releasing from the freeze plate before the waterpump comes back on. you can turn off icemaker - dry the plate with a towel - take fine steelwool and go up and down on the tray until all discoloration is removed and the plate is shiney - empty bin - flush plate and bin - turn back on and see if ice falls onto cutting grid either right before or right after waterpump comes on.

Ice bucket/bin frozen in place

mine was overfilling because the ice was getting stuck on the way out. So some stayed in the tray and when the water would refil, it would overfil and go over the stuk cubes. leaving it to overflow to the bottom and freeze like yours.

Leak from icemaker shorts electricity in house

It sounds like the ice in the bin is warming up enough to melt for some reason then re-freeze. Check your door gasket seal and also the ice chute door flapper seal to make sure warm room air isn't being drawn into the ice bin area. Also make sure the freezer area is VERY cold like 0 degrees F or lower, that will keep the ice hard and help stop the ice from having a liquid surface film from opening and closing the freezer door too often (then freezing again). The water down the back is from the ice cubes melting a little then re-freezing. Also, is the frige working OK? Does the compressor turn on and off normally? I ask because sometimes the compress start device is failing and the refer can warm up quite a bit while the compressor is trying to start up... eventually the compressor will start but by then the ice has melted a little then the compressor runs for a long time to bring the temps down again. Monitoring with a thermometer every hour will show if the temps are lowering in the freezer section too much.
