The default password is 0000. If you manually assigned a 4-digit password, and forgot it, you will need to follow the password recall procedure.
If you forget the password:
You will be asked to enter the four digit password every time you turn on the projector. If you enter the wrong password, the password error message displays. You can retry by turning off the projector (by pressing Power) and start again, or if you did not record the password in this manual, and you absolutely do not remember it, you can use the password recall procedure.
To enter the password recall procedure:
Press and hold Right for 5 seconds. The projector will display a coded number on the screen. In this case your recovery code is: 22135 - 15520 - 7440 - 10130
Your recovery password is: 7771

SOURCE: How do you open a BENQ MP610 projector to replace the light? What tool do you use? Thanks Marty
I just replaced my lamp for the same beamer. Took me a while to figure out how, but if you know how, it is easy. Turn the beamer on its back. In the middle, you will see a black rubber (small), it covers a hole and a screw is in the whole. Pull the small bblack rubber out. Unscrew the screw. A small cover will come loose. And there is the lamp, You have to pull out the power cable, and than only one little screw that mounts the lamp to the inside of the beamer.
It's easy!
Hope you will succeed,
