Basically, enter Time, Date, and Site-- level the tripod and do a 2 or 3 star alignment.

The knob could have come loose from the mirror. This would require a return to Celestron for repair or a complete disassembly of the rear of the scope,

You can remove the focuser, and MAYBE it is just detached from the rod inside that moves the mirror back and forth.

Just by selecting a new star. It will ask you if you want to replace a previous alignment star. You need to re-read the manual for the Celestron hand-controller.

First do a RESET on the hand controller and make sure TIME, DATE, and SITE, are correct.

If this does not work then RE-load the firmware in the hand controller. If that fails contact Celestron customer service.

The hinge should be to the north. An imaginary line drawn perpendicular from the center of the tilt plate should point to Polaris (the North Star).
