Well a savage model 99 from late 1800s would be a collectible and should be cleaned with soft cloth bore swabs and a lightly oiled clothed rub down.
If its dirty or lightly tarnished NEVER use abrasive or polish on it. The tarnish is called patina and is its character. That gun values from $250-$3500 depending on condition. If rusted out I would take to a professional gunsmith for help. A Professional...

SOURCE: 99 RX300 Engine code keeps coming up lean

I just had the same thing happen to my 99 RX300. I replaced the MAF sensor and cleaned the throttle body. We cleared the codes and check engine light came on again... with a knock sensor code. Had to replace knock sensors. Found some great info on how to do that here. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=41266&mode=threaded Car drives great now!

SOURCE: nail not firing, battery charged, fuel cell good,

When you took it apart to clean it, you may have piched off the large brown o-ring on the head valve. To check this, take the orange head valve cover off and push the gun downard onto a piece of wood as if firing it. Watch the o-ring to see if it clears all the metal fingers around the fan.

SOURCE: gun does not fire every time

When you cleaned it, you may have pinched the large brown o-ring that is around the fan. Take gun apart again and reassemble. before you place the orange head valve cover on, press the nose of the gun into a wood surface and assure the o-ring goes into chamber unrestricted. Basically, the aluminum fingers of the cylinder should not pinch off the o-ring.

Testimonial: "I ordered a rebuild kit and this took care of the problem!(spark plug, new filter o ring etc) Thanks for all the assistance!!!"

Serial number A505589 on Long Tom, 12 GA. Choke with 36 inch barrel.

It's a Stevens gun manufactured in 1949. Probably a model 94, but without a pic, I can't tell you that for sure. Elaine, do a web search on "Stevens 94 shotgun" and see if you can match yours to any of the pics. They're great, workingman's guns, or in your case, workingwomen's guns. lol They last forever, they shoot all modern ammo, they're reliable as heck. Clean it up really well and use it in good health.

yes,
Most any good gun dealer should have some, I prefer the target model with the heavy barrel. Adjustable sights ar a must for any accurate shooting with a pistol, also use only the standard velocity ammo or the target ammo. you will be far more accurate with these.

Smith wesson problems MP15/223 cal.

How many rounds are you capping off on one trip to to the range? If it a 100 rounds or more, your weapon will retain a small amount more burnt powder and the lacquer coating on the cartridges, but it really is hardly noticeable, but still need to keep your weapon clean no matter if you are using copper. Made in USA. The mp (military /police) is a cheap version of that rifle with no cover over the breech, and no clambering damper. Still worth 5-6 hundred new.. The firing pin cruds up, and if it was fired before you got it and wasn't cleaned that would do it. If it fires, it will jam! Try the dirty gun stenerio, not a bad choice, Colt or Armalite get a little more respect and higher price. Never give up on a 15 , parts are available and reasonable price, and ther are a million upgrades , but careful not to find that you have made it too heavy

Marlin rifle model 795 jams intermittently

It takes about 250 rounds to break in a gun. Try some hotter ammo and see if the problem disappears, if so, call Marlin and ask them for their solution if you want to keep using Federal, you might want to try some Remington standard velocity target, it is very accurate in most guns.
I would shoot it for at least 500 rounds and clean it from powder debris in chamber and receiver bolt and trigger group and try it again, however don't hesitate to get a hold of Marlin, they are nice folks.

My daisy model 99 bb gun does not shoot bb's with any force.

Try shooting a ton of silicone oil into the oil hole on the side of the barrel and then leave the gun sitting on its muzzle over night, then in the morning with the barrel out dry fire it a couple of times and then try it. what this does is expand the leather seal and bring back air pressure. it worked on my 99, good luck
