Freezer not getting cold. compressor running , fans are runing. i cleaned coils

Probably low on freon(which means a leak) or a blockage in sealed system. Both costly repairs.

If compressor is running check and make sure your cond. fan and evap fan are running. Also check in freezer and make sure evap. coil is not covered in ice. Also clean your condenser coil. You could be low on refrigerant. There are quite a few things to check.

There is usually a thermistor in the coil inside that switches the fan on after defrost. It might be open circuit or the coil may not be getting cold enough. Check the condenser is clear and clean and try a thermometer in the evaporator (coil inside) to see how cold it's getting.

Hi,

Let's think this through a bit....
You say it is cooling but it seems too quiet.... is the compressor runing but the condenser fan is not??? that would make it cool but not cold and also make it more quiet...
If both compressor and condenser fan are running... is the evaporator fan... the one inside the freezer running? That also could cause the same problems...

Is the compressor running all of the time??? or is it cycling? if it is cycling then it could be a t-stat or sensor problem....if it is not starting properly it may be a capacitor/relay problem...

These are alll things that you can easily check yourself....

If they all checkout... then the unit may have a small refrigerant leak and just will not cool enough now to catchup from a earm condition....
To check that out you would need a tech. to attach gauges to the system and check the charge...

code 40 compressor for the freezer side over runing. check the coils upper part of the unit. or condenser fan motor. easy things to check.

It sounds like the condenser coils , the coils by the compressor , need cleaned badly . This (and the compressor cooling fan) , can cause the compressor to cut off on overload (due to the heat) , thereby not circulation refrigerant thru out the freezer coils .
The water line goes from inside the freezer door ( cold ) , under the refrig ( warm ) , then to the inside refrig water reservoir ( cold ) . After that , you should get cold water , until the reservoir is drained of cold water .

Your compressor has shorted out. The compressor shouldnt be scorching hot just warm. And that humming you are hearing is the compressor trying to start but it is shorted. There is nothing you can do except for replace the compressor.(or the refrigerator)
