SOURCE: Pressure problem with Kohler shower faucet??
Hi pglaw,
My best guess is the supply valve for the hot side isn't open all the way. This valve is right on the valve and is accessed by taking off the front cover plate. This would still allow the pressure balancing valve to let water through but then you would have a small flow on the hot side.
If this isn't it then then cartridge is bad.
Please rate this response and good Luck,, phil

Sounds like it was installed upside down or the cartridge is installed improperly

I had the same problem, you need to shut off your valves and remove the handle that turns the water on and off. You need to turn the chrome front piece counter clockwise to remove it from the front of the unit. Pull the ball out and you should see 2 rubber o-rings with springs inside. My guess is that you have a bad o-ring that should be replaced. After you buy the kit from your local Home Depot, Lowes etc, you install the pieces the same way you removed them!

Take the strainer off the spout and check to see if there is any dirt or rust buildup in the strainer. This happens when repairs have been done. It usually collects at the first place the water comes out of.

these valves can be adjusted by removing the handle and adjusting the white gear that regulates the hot and cold that come out, try going more to one way if it gets colder then go the other way.
