I think you are working on the wrong end. Check the fan and inlet ductwork of the dryer, if the air isn't moving properly, it will not move enough to keep the coils and limiters cool and they will fail after working properly a few times.

there should be a dip switch in the back or a jumper that switches it from C to F.
Pull the t-stat off of the wall and check out the back to see if there is a switch or a jumper to do that.

Hi - From what you have described the unit could possibly have a communication problem with the control board. However, if the unit is producing heat but will not complete cycle please confirmed that the door is closing properly. If it is not, the unit could possibly have a defective door switch or cord/wiring. Either, or, could be faulty at this time. I would suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately since this is not a typical DIY job.
