You mean 'low as it can go', talking temperature not numbers. The temperature is too high. You need a refrigeration engineer. You either need a top up of gas or the thermostat has failed. They are great fridges, I have had lots of them in my career.

Temperature has dropped to 10 degrees.

If the refrigerator seems to run all the time, then the problem is probably the thermostat. The -49 thermostat consists of a 30"(approx) sensing tube connected at one end to an electric switch box with control knob (the knob is usually labeled "COLDER". The switch box electrical contacts could be stuck closed, or the sensing tube has been damaged such that the switch box is getting the wrong signal. In either case, replacing the the thermostat module/sensing tube should solve the problem. These modules cost in the range of $50 to $100.

I bought a used True commercial refrigerator model GDM-41 the temp. remains at 60* no matter if i move the thermostat up or down it remains at 60* I noticed that the thermostat was replaced and has a...

Hello Margarito539,

I understand that you purchased a True GDM-41 merchandise refrigerator and you are having a problem with the temperature. The thermostat you are currently using is an in-line thermostat and is not the proper thermostat for the unit I would suggest that you follow the below link and purchase the proper thermostat for the unit. http://restaurant-equipment-parts.com/part/true/800393 the cost is $36.98 and is an OEM part.

You also may need a service tech to check out the freon in the unit. The unit uses 134A freon and must be within a few ounces of charge other wise it will not work properly. As the unit is keeping it 60 degrees, before you do anything make sure that you can hear the compressor running as this is not a cheap fix, however may be worth the cost for the unit you have. The compressor should be humming if it is not and the unit has been plugged in for a while, unplug for about thirty minutes and let the compressor cool. Once thirty minutes has passed plug in and see if the compressor is humming.

After checking the compressor you have two choices if it is humming call a service tech and have them check the freon charge and thermostat or change the thermostat and see if the compressor starts cooling the unit. If the compressor is working then the box is well worth fixing, if the compressor is not working you need to decide if it is worth fixing. A used unit with a one year parts and labor warranty costs $2100 so the repair should not cost over $1000 to be economical.

Thank you for choosing FixYa.com

We have a GDM-26 commerical coke machine. Only

If any of your drinks are freezing you need to adjust your temp setting. The suggested setting is 5. changing the temp setting basically tells the refrigerator to stop cooling when the temp hits a low degree, and to start cooling when it hits a high degree. This keeps your drinks not to hot, not too cold, but just right. If this doesn't work I would change the cold control altogether, it might've went bad. If you have a few minutes, locate the condensor fan (bottom) and make sure it is periodically turning on and off like it should.

Cooling probleums

The thermostat should only control within a specific range of temperatures. I believe your thermostat needs to be replaced.

TRUE freezer model number GDM-49F.

Your unit should have a defrost timer. The timer may be stuck in a defrost. It should be located at the bottom of the unit next to the compressor.Open the door to the timer and observe the position of the timer. If you turn the knob and the unit starts up,it's the timer. If this is the case, you can purchase a new one at any local a/c supply.Let me know,Mike
