Is there a way to reset the cmos password on a toshiba DX735-D3302?

I've tried pulling the cmos battery out for 2 days to no luck, is there a jumper on the board? Sadly it doesn't have the JRST jumper under the ram on this motherboard. It's a McKinley-6050A2468701-MB-AO2

  2. on the system board (under memory stick) you see Jumper JRST.
  3. by a small cable connect Jumper JRST to Ground (usually on the side of slot for Memory Stick)

Hi.Sorry this did not help you out.
you could read up on this to see if it helps you out.
How to Reset the BIOS Password By Removing the CMOS Battery
One of the most common methods to reset the BIOS password is to remove or discharge the battery on the computer’s motherboard. If the power to the battery is lost or drained, the BIOS configuration will be reset to the factory state with no password. System settings made to the BIOS will also be lost.
Step 1 – Turn off the computer and ensure it has no external power (ie unplug the power cable. If it has a battery, remove it).
Step 2 – Open the computer’s case or box.
Step 3 – Locate the computer’s motherboard and look for the white silver button battery on the motherboard.
Step 4 – If the battery is not soldered to the motherboard, remove it carefully and wait for approximately 30 seconds.
Step 5 – Put the computer case back together and boot the computer.
Step 6 – If the “CMOS Checksum Error-Defaults Loaded” error message is displayed, the BIOS password has been reset.
In the event the CMOS battery is soldered to the computer’s motherboard, you will want to seek a different method to reset the BIOS password on the computer.

Steps to Reset the BIOS Password Using Hardware
If the CMOS battery is soldered to the computer’s motherboard, some brands will have a jumper located on the board that can be used to reset or clear the BIOS password. The location of the jumper on the motherboard will be contained in the motherboard documentation. If you can not find documentation on which jumper will reset the BIOS password, some users will guestimate on which jumper is the appropriate by choosing the one closest to the battery for reset. Another option is to short the points of the battery connection pins to the motherboard (when there is no power being applied to the computer).

Steps to Reset the BIOS Password Using the Real Time Clock
If attempts at resetting the CMOS battery through removal or by jumper fail, another method is to reset the Real Time Clock (RTC) Integrated Circuit (IC) on the computer’s motherboard. This method will work if the RTC requires an external battery. To reset, simply remove the RTC from the motherboard socket with no power available to the computer and reseat. The RTCs reported to require external batteries include:

    Dallas Semiconductor DS12885S
    TI benchmarq bq3258S
    Motorola MC146818AP
    Hitachi HD146818AP
    Samsung KS82C6818A
If the RTC contains an integrated battery, it can typically be reset by shorting two of the pins for several seconds after power has been removed from the system.
How to Turn Off the BIOS Password
Once end-users obtain the master BIOS password for the target computer, a common task to accomplish is making the computer stop asking for the password when restarted or rebooted.
Step 1 – Restart your computer.
Step 2 – Press the BIOS access key during computer restart (F2 on many models, Tech-FAQ listing of common BIOS access keys).
Step 3 – Use the keyboard arrow keys to locate the security tab in the BIOS setup.
Step 4 – Locate the submenu that lists menu items similar to:
    Supervisor password is: set
    User password is: set
Step 5 – Use the keyboard arrow key to navigate to the available options and press the first password setting.
Step 6 – Enter the current BIOS password in the subsequently displayed menu prompt. Some BIOS types will ask for the password to be entered twice.
Step 7 – Change the password setting to blank, not set, etc.
Step 8 – Repeat steps 5-7 for the subsequent password options that indicate they are “set.”
Step 9 – Navigate to the BIOS “exit” menu option and choose the “save changes” menu option.
Step 10 – Continue to exit from the BIOS setup and restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

SOURCE: CMOS resetting Clearing

I had the same problem.

I fashioned a small piece of wire, and with each end, shorted the two sides of the battery together, - thereby removing the BIOS settings through a loss of power.

Do this only briefly though - you don't want to drain / destroy the battery altogether, as this will hold your future bios settings in the cmos chip.

Good luck,

Erik.

Password is not accepted at opening and just shuts down

http://forums.toshiba.com/t5/Windows-8-8-1-Knowledge-Base/What-can-I-do-if-I-forgot-my-Windows-8-password/ta-p/369971
This is from Toshiba support forum.
If you use a Microsoft account to log in: reset that password on the Microsoft site:https://account.live.com/password/reset

If you still use windows 7 there is a small link on that first site, which eventually leads you to a utility to download (Offline NT password & registry editor), and burn to disk, to boot the pc with to reset your password. I have used this utility before and I say it should work for you also. Be carefull though because you can disrupt your pc, and then you will have to reinstall windows from scratch.

To remove the need for a password after you have recovered your password:
http://support.toshiba.com/support/modelHome?freeText=3228190
But then anyone can always get into your pc.

Fot the future it is better is to make a password restore disk or USB:

To prevent a thief from using your computer, the only way to "reset" the password on a "notebook" computer is to find your original sales-receipt, and to telephone Toshiba, and get them to help you.

Don't reset password BIOS HP DC7100

If you cannot access the machine after if has been powered up, it is still possible to get past the BIOS password. The BIOS password is stored in CMOS memory that is maintained while the PC is powered off by a small battery, which is attached to the motherboard.

Open the CPU casing locate the CMOS battery in motherboard and remove this battery, all CMOS information (including the BIOS password) will be lost. You will need to re-enter the correct CMOS setup information to use the machine. The machines owner or user will most likely be alarmed when it is discovered that the BIOS password has been deleted.

On some motherboards, the battery is soldered to the motherboard, making it difficult to remove. If this is the case, you have another alternative. Somewhere on the motherboard you should find a jumper that will clear the BIOS password. If you have the motherboard documentation, you will know where that jumper is. If not, the jumper may be labeled on the motherboard. If you are not fortunate enough for either of these to be the case, you may be able to guess which jumper is the correct jumper.

This jumper is usually standing alone near the battery. If you cannot locate this jumper, you might short both of the points where the battery connects to the motherboard.

If all else fails, you may have to clear the BIOS password by resetting the RTC (Real Time Clock) IC (Integrated Circuit) on your motherboard.
Many RTC's require an external battery. If your RTC is one of this type, you can clear the BIOS password just by unsocketing the RTC and reseating it. Good luck!
