When I turn on my tv it starts buzzing, even when the cable is off the tv buzzes, the buzzing is coming from the back of the TV, even ehen the tv is on mute it still buzzes...WTF, guess its going to be a Sony, or other name brand after this
Vizio makes an ok LCD, but if you notice they no longer make plasma. they stopped last year. Anyways. the buzzing sound is semi serious, it sounds as though you have a capacitor leaking. It is best to get it fixed before it goes out all the way, with it buzzing it will be easier to identify. Best of luck

It ur Vizio tv,The power supply board is the problems. The transformers in the power supply board have gaps in the transformers. The high voltage curents flow that make that buzzing noise.
try to unplug some cables from the T.V like PS3/PS2/Xbox ect, or check your VCRs or DVD players cables by taking them off to see if the noise goes away. My crappy t.v makes a buzzing noise when i connect external speaker or VCRs or my PS3
The TV usually hums when the backlight setting is too low. So turning
it up should get rid of the problem. To do this please follow these
instructions:
1. Turn the TV on.
2. Press the Menu button on the remote, located right below the channel changing button.
3. Press the down direction button, located at the middle of the remote. Press that button until the backlight is highlighted.
4. Press the right direction button until the backlight is at 100.
5. Press the OK button and then the Exit button until you get back to your picture.
