SOURCE: I need a rafter hook for a Porter Cable nail gun
yeah good luck finding one that fits. I have been looking for 8 years. If I remember correctly the hooks that are sold for frame guns, the hole is to big for the fitting, so what I di is got a new fitting with longer threads and some washers i want to say like 3/4 or even 1" diam. With the right size hole and sandwiched the hook between them. It works well enough, the down side is the the hook will be in a fixed position. So if your right handed the you need to tighen it down so the hook is about 45 to 60 degrees left of center so you will still be able to load nails. hope this helps. Ohh and if the hole in the hook is to small just drill it out and presto. I have had so many frome guns I forget what works on what gun but I think you will find that this is the trick.

Check the parts breakdown for your model and see if seal #894737 is listed. This seal is cause of problem that you describe. It is included in the rebuild kit or available separately. If this seal is not listed, then problem is fine scratches on oring contact surfaces in head. Use magnify glass to examine surface and remove fine scratches with 400 grit paper. Apply silicone paste lube to all surfaces that contact orings and seals. (Silicone lube is available at Lowes in plumbing department, used for faucet orings). Parts for gun are available at Dewalt service center or at www.toolpartsdirect.com. Good luck with your repair.
