You don't mention what OS you're using, xp or vista, but some startup problems are unique to the OS and can be searched online by typing "troubleshoot xp startup problem + black screen + cursor", and so forth.
Here is a general startup troubleshooter that may help, and here is an older but reliable boot troubleshooter.

Aux inputs typically require line level audio signals. If there is no phono input on the JVC you can buy external phono amps that will solve the problem

Hi, the lifters can be noisy of luck of oil. Check what oil should be used on your car specification. If they still noisy that mean you need to replace them.

When you car is displaying engine system service required, what will one do?

The car computer keeps track of the number of kms/miles that was done since the last service when this light and counter was reset: according to the car computer mileage log, the car is now due for its next 'regular' service: take it to a garaged for its overdue service and they will reset the warning.

What will I be looking at, repair wise, when I have reached 200,000 kms

u should have had the trans serviced, the belts and hoses replaced, the cooling system serviced, a new thermostat and the spark spark plugs replaced at 160,000 km, also air and fuel filters if they haven't been done in the last 30,000 miles or 50,000 Km. right now if all the above was done you should be good to go.

First try replacing air filter if not done recently $30, next consider bad fuel put in fuel from major oil company from station with many patrons.Then you need to look at fuel delivery system including fuel filter and furl pump. But first try the 2 things mentioned.

Just got 94 olds with 3.4 ltr how realiable are

No major problems, they are a little harder to work on than the 3.1. The Alternator is in a real tight spot and they have a timing belt that needs replace every 90,000 miles. Even though you don't have 90,000 miles on yours, I would recommend replacing the belt if it hasn't been done. Just because it is 15 years old .

Provided the vehicle has been serviced regulary and had good quality oil and filters, theres no reason the car shouldn't get 400,000+ kms. Check its service history, and its oil consumption.
