My copy of windows did not pass genuine windows validation

Actually my xp profession windows may bea victim of software counterfeiting. and ask for genuine microsoft software.andthis gives the message that this copy of windows did not pass genuine windows validation.

To by-pass the windows validation please take these three steps:

step 1 - click on tools within internet explorer

step 2 - click on manage add-ons within the tool menu

step 3 - when you click on manage add-ons it will open a window within window. you will find all the managed add-ons within internet explorer the main one you need is windows genuine advantage. click on this and disable it

thats all you need to do...... now you can go do your windows updatesmy copy of windows did not pass genuine windows va - 2.gif!!

My computer may be a victim of software counterfeiting..the copy of windows did not pass genuine windows validation
There is actually a way to bypass the comment " your computer may be a victim of software counterfeiting..the copy of windows did not pass genuine windows validation".  
try this:
1.Kill the process wgatray.exe in Windows TaskManager (Select it then right click and select End task) and restart Windows XP in safe mode. Now delete the following files:

Delete WgaTray.exe from c:\windowss\system32
Delete WgaTray.exe from c:\windows\system32\dllcache

Start Windows Registry editor and delete the folder "WGALOGON" located in the following location:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WinlogonNotify.
Delete all references in your registry to WgaTray.exe (repeat search using F3 function key).

Worked for most people.Check it out...

Ask for genuine microsoft software
Hi.

It appears you have been a victim of software counterfeit, just like message says. Windows cannot find your product number in its valid product keys database.

There are three possibilities:
  • you have purchased illegal Windows XP (you will have to contact Microsoft on resolving this issue),
  • you entered blacklisted product key by mistake (search on Microsoft's site on information how to change your serial number),
  • you intentionally installed pirated Windows XP (FixYa does not provide any feedback to pirates).

your using pirated software. it will work no worries about that. you can not update it anymore. to update and be safe from internet threats you need to install genuine Windows XP.

If you find the message :

"You may have been a victim of software coounterfeiting.

This copy of Window did not pass genuine Windows validation.

Ask for genuine microsooft software."

That means that your system is counterfeit

If the system is counterfeit I cannot help you because of Fixya policies on piracy.

If it is not, I can tell you that you can get rid of the problem doing a system restore to a date before you started getting the message.
