Canon PIXMA MX330 all-in-one printer- trying to use ADF. No doc inside on flat platen. I insert 8 standard-weight 8x11 sheets face up into ADF until I hear beep. When I press Black to start the copying, I get error message: Document in ADF. Redo operation after checking document in ADF and pressing OK. I then recheck doc (it's fine) and press OK. Error message: Document in ADF. Close the feeder cover and press OK to eject document. I don't want to eject the document -- I want to print it! Please advise.
Canon Pixma MX330, ADF error, Code : 2,103,0
Here's what I found. There were no stuck gears or pieces of plastic caught anywhere.
The ****** can still feed paper, except for (consistently) the last page -->error/stuck.
1) In order to CLEAR THE ERROR you need to do two things
a) & b):
a) Press OK, WITH THE HOOD OPEN, with a piece of paper loaded in the ADF, being careful to grab the paper manually as it comes out of the bottom of the hood.
b) Windex the strip of glass surface which sits under the ADF next to the platen. This needs to be done with attention to minute detail, and a bright LED flashlight; since ink smudges off of documents and collects on the glass with alarming frequency. The machine may think these smudges are caught/jammed paper.
2) In order to SCAN a stack of paper, add one blank sheet to the bottom of your document. This page will be the one that
fails to clear the ADF, generates an error, and must be manually cleared before the next job.
The rest of your pages will have already scanned.
Repeat Every Time You Use it
I first received this wonderful error message on my Canon MX330 multi-function-does-everything-including-baking-cookies-and-bread printer. I tried opening and closing the top hood, opening and closing the front document exit portal door, tried to do those two things at once, yelled, placed a document in the automatic document feeder, yelled again when that didn't work, said to myself, "When all else fails, find help somewhere online.", Googled in my problem, went to FixYa.com, read your advice, followed it to the letter, and had NO MORE problems after that, so far. Thank you very much. I'll most likely consult FixYa.com again for any other issues.
Oh, I even banged my desk a few times with both my fists! That didn't help. Yelling and banging your desk don't help solve problems, but those things do an absolutely exquisite job of making things worse! Thank you, Hazarabs and FixYa!!!
I raised lid and ran a sheet through the ADF It cleared to print however not to use ADR .Had to repeat process for each JOB multi sheets ran ok

I was getting same ADF document error message when nothing was there and all I was trying to do was print (I never fax either). So, I actually ended up having to place an actual piece of paper into the ADF slot, and pressed OK. Once it pushed the paper through, the message disappeared and I was able to print normally!

The machine switches to Scan Mode
Press the [Color Start] or [Black Start] button on the machine
MP Navigator starts on the connected computer. You can scan in documents placed on the platen glass or in the ADF using MP Navigator.
Important
The inner side of the Document Cover (white sheet) (C) is easily damaged, so wipe it gently.
If the glass of the ADF (A)
is stained with ink, correction fluid, or the like, black streaks may
appear on the printed paper when the document is loaded in the ADF. With
a clean, soft, lint-free cloth, wipe the glass of the ADF.
With a clean, soft, lint-free cloth, wipe the Platen Glass (D), the inner side of the Document Cover (white sheet) (C), the glass of the ADF (A), and the inner side of the ADF (white area) (B) gently. Make sure not to leave any residue, especially on the Platen Glass.
