Watch stopped at 6.45 pm yesterday. Watch charged night before. Will not turn on or take a charge.
SOURCE: Garmin forerunner 305 won't come on.
My wife's was always powering off during runs. Then it would not power on at all. There was a connection inside that wasn't making contact. But first First try cleaning the 4 brass connection tabs on the watch and check your charger to make sure the tabs are raised and not squished. Second try to reset the unit. Hit mode reset and power buttons all at the same time. Hold these for 3 seconds and then release. If these do not work here is what I did. There are no screws holding the unit together. I used a exacto blade to very carefully pry the unit apart along the side seam. It's not easy to do. Be very cautious and gentle. Work the thickness of the blade into the joint to gently wedge apart. You are not trying to remove material! Once apart you will see some brass fingers that make a connection between the upper and lower part of the unit. This is where the problem was with my wife's 305. I gently raised these tabs to make a better connection, It's been working ever since. I didn't try it before but try pressing very hard on the unit where it says Forerunner 305. The case is very hard so it might not work. But if it powers up when pushing you found your problem. Hope this helps. Here is a link I found on opening a 205 (Same process)http://ctorunner.googlepages.com/dismantleforerunner205 To put the unit back together use Automotive silicon/gasket maker.Use a tooth pick to put a VERY small amount of silicon around the entire seam. Put the two half's together and wrap tightly with electrical tape. Test the unit immediately to see if it powers on and off. If it does not open it back up and raise the small prongs more that make the connection from the bottom half to the top half. If any silicon squishes out the sides wipe with water and a rag.Let the unit sit over night. In the morning remove the tape.
SOURCE: Guess Watch's stop watch is broken?
it's not broken.
let's call the top stopwatch button "a" and the bottom stopwatch button "b." eg, for normal stop watch function press "a" to start timing, press "a" to stop timing, and press "b" to reset.
to reset: press button "a" and "b" simultaneously and release (an easy way to do this is press and hold down "b" then press "a" and release both). this will send both hands spinning. next press "a" intermittently until the second-hand is back to it's desired reset location. then, likewise, press "b" intermittently until the minute hand is zeroed. now with both hands at the correct reset location, again press and release "a" and "b" simultaneously to save these resets and return the watch to normal function mode.

Mine does this every once in a while as well. Try this, it always works for me. This is from the Garmin website. Mine actually resets without needing to be plugged into the charger. "The device may just be locked up and needs to be reset so that it can start up normally. To do a reset on the device, make sure the unit is plugged in to the charging cable/cradle and connected to power. Next press and hold the Mode + Reset buttons at the same time for approximately 10 seconds. After releasing the Mode + Reset buttons, attempt to power the device on normally."

Change the capacitor. This is the thing accumulating the energy. As the ordinary batteries, it may go bust, so, all you have to do is to replace it. There is no such a name as power cell in Citizen EcoDrive watches - there are CAPACITOR. Capacitor absorbs the energy from the light sensitive panel(s) and dispenses it in the ordinary battery manner. Advertisements are saying that you will never have to change the battery - that's right, because there are no batteries at all. Instead of battery there are CAPACITOR, but nobody says it will last forever. Rate me, plz.
Testimonial: "Thanks, that's what I expected. The manual says the watch has a manganese titanium rechargeable battery--I will get it checked."

Did you push the left button (has a green minus sign) at the bottom left of the video display? The battery indicator will be on the upper right.
