Ice maker is not operating

The ice maker is making ice however when you push the lever in the door to process the ice into a cup, nothing happens. It doesn't appear that it has power to operate the dispensor. Water works fine and the light operates but that is it.

Take it out and let it thaw. -- They can freeze up. Also, there is a gear or small wheel on the front but under a plastic cover, remove the cover and (GENTLY) help the wheel turn (usually clockwise) and you may help to free up a locked wheel that turns the rod which dispenses the ice. Careful and goood luck!! >>>don't force it or you could damage it!!

LG Freezer ice maker makes ice but wont dispense

There is a mechanical flap (trap door) that should open to allow ice that is being pushed by the auger in the bottom of the bin to fall out. Possibly the solenoid that opens the door does not work, or you just have an obstruction (piece of ice) preventing the door from opening far enough to allow the ice to pass through. Here is some helpful information and instructions.

Lg freezer ice maker making ice but not dispensing

I have the same problem. I am getting tired of having to clear it out about once a week. I take the ice holder out and empty it in a large bowl and remove any large, melted together pieces, then replace it. It works fine for a while.

I have a problem with my Kenmore side by side refrigerator model # 106.56926600. The icemaker when pressing the dispenser lever from the outside of the door.I hear the ice coming from the ice maker to the...

Your question is worded in a way that I might not be interpreting it correctly. I am guessing that it is making ice but not dispensing,or going into your glass when you push the lever, right?

So when you push the ice dispenser lever do you hear a "click" like you do when you push the water lever? Push them slowly and listen.

If no "click" is heard then it is most likely the bracket that holds the dispenser switches. It is made of plastic and very prone to breaking over time especially if children are using it. Part# is WP2180226 and be aware that this is under live voltage so if you are not mechanical then do not attempt yourself and please call a pro to fix.

If you hear a "click" then can you hear the motor turning inside? If yes then it could be something as simple as a block of ice stuck in the bucket preventing the ice from coming out. The owners manual recommends to dump the ice to avoid this roughly every two weeks but most people never do.

Kenmore 50594000 with in the door ice dispenser. the Unit is making ice but will not distribute it through the door. nothing happens when you push the door dispenser lever. The unit dispenses water...

What usually happens on these is the bracket that holds the switches for the ice and water dispenser breaks and that is typically on the ice side.

The best way to check is to open the door and push the water dispenser lever with your hand. As you push it in and gradually get farther you will hear a "click". That is the switch.

Now do the same with the ice side and if you do not hear that click then the bracket is broken. Easy fix but everything back there is live so make sure you are confident ,and safe around power!

Unplug it! Part# is WP2180226

The red light may or may not be on this model. The first generation of ice maker optics had the spot for it but whirlpool never hooked it up. The second generation blinked when the door was open but it was for the tech to determine if they could "see the other side". This light has no function for ice dispensing.

Ice won't come out the door

There is 2 switches in the dispenser that get energized when you push in the levers....check those out. Also there is a small control board in most refrigerators....and that could be malfunctioning.

Hooked up water to frig and got water in door but no water to icemaker. Any ideas?

Make sure the lever is down on the ice maker . Also , can pour about 2/3 cup of water into ice maker , so it will freeze and start the cycle . Otherwise , wait , and when the ice maker gets cold enough , it will cycle on its on to start the ice making procedure . If you get water to the door , then it's connected properly , and water will go to the ice maker , if the water valve and ice maker are in working order .
