Put eggs in cold water, then boil, let sit for 20 minutes, then rinse in cool water, not ice

The grey around the yolk of the egg when hard boiled is due to the sulfur in the yolk. Cook the eggs a little slower, slow simmer, and add a little vinegar and salt to the cooking water. I have also found that we all have the tendency to overcook hard boiled eggs which also helps create the grey around the yolk. I have found that eggs simmered for not more than 12 minutes are hard boiled but don't have as much grey.

Hi, You can cook up to 12 large size eggs at one time in this steamer. Fill the base to the medium fill line, place the eggs over or close to the steam holes, and cook for approximately 35 minutes. If this helps, please rate this answer. Thanks! Hal

I could not find a User's manual for your exact product , but did manage to find a few for similar ones. Hopefully the instructions will be close enough to be useful.

SOURCE: my friend bought me a hyundai egg cooker(plu

Ignore the instruction manual. Instead look at the measuring cup that comes with your Hyundai PLU 247959 (produced and sold under license by Poundstretcher).
On the side of the measuring cup, you can see three clusters of marks:1. 25 to 40 ml for soft-boiled eggs (symbol of egg with two horizontal lines)2. 45 to 60 ml for medium boiled eggs (symbol of egg with one horizontal line)3. 65 to 80 ml for hard boiled eggs (symbol of egg)
Egg boilers are based on the principle that the larger the volume to be heated is, the less water is required. In other words, you will need to add less water for boiling seven eggs, and more water for boiling one or two eggs.
Which means that for seven eggs to soft boil, add 25 ml; and for one egg to soft boil, add 40 ml. If you look at the markings, you'll notice that on the vertical line between 40 and 25 ml, there are seven equidistant horizontal lines, each showing the amount of water required for the various quantities of eggs.
One egg = fill with water up to the 40 ml markTwo eggs = fill up to the mark below the 40 ml markThree eggs = fill up to the second mark below the 40 ml markFour eggs = fill up to the third mark below the 40 ml mark etc, untilSeven eggs = fill up to the 25 ml mark
Medium boiled and hard boiled eggs are measured in similar ways. Works every time for me. Nice little egg boiler, by the way.

Hard boil 6 eggs. After you have hard boiled them, peel the shell and cut the eggs in half lengthways. Scoop out the yolk into a bowl and add to it 1/2 teaspoon of curry powder & 2 heaped tablespoons of mayonnaise. Smoosh it all together and then refill the eggs where you scooped the yolk out and season it with salt and pepper. Yum!

This is a custard base recipe
(using eggs and cream along with vanilla extract)

Ingredients:
4 egg yolks
1/2 pint (250ml) milk
1/2 pint (250ml) double/heavy cream
4 oz (100g) sugar or caster sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract (or according to taste)

First of all beat and mix together the egg yolks and sugar until thick. Separately, pour the milk into a saucepan and scald it (bring slowly up to boiling point). Pour the hot milk into the egg yolks and sugar mix whilst continuously stirring. Then pour the mixture back into the pan and heat gently, stirring until the custard thickens - DO NOT BRING TO THE BOIL OR IT WILL PROBABLY CURDLE. When you can see a film form over the back of your spoon it's time to remove the saucepan from the heat. Leave to cool.

This is the custard base and one you can use in many other ice cream recipes where you want a rich, creamy ice cream.

When the custard base is cold, stir in the cream and then the vanilla extract, then transfer the whole mixture into your Ice cream Maker and freeze.
***************************************************
You can watch everything come together as it churns. It wont take more than 10-20min I always sample mine to "test" it.

Also here is a site I like to get more things you can do with your machine. http://www.ice-cream-recipes.com

Good luck, I might make some tonight. Sounds good

I have a tefal TT550015 toast 'n' Egg and have no instructions on how to use it. Please advise

To use the egg side only, fill the measuring cup with the correct amounts of water. (One side is for boiled eggs, one is for poached eggs.) Pour the water into the basin at the bottom. For boiled- Place 1-4 eggs in the tray with the four holes. Use the sharp thing at the bottom of the measuring cup to pierce the egg shell. Place the lid over top, and hit the 'egg' button. When the light on the button goes out, remove the lid. For poached, grease the pan. Spray/ butter, whatever. DO NOT rely on the non-stick. The thick black tray for boiling eggs goes on first. With the egg in the greased pan (scrambled or whole) place the pan into the unit. There are four plastic pieces in the boiling tray to show you where it goes, the handles aligned. The round tray, with the square holes in it, can be used to warm pre-cooked meat. This is optional, and that tray goes on top. Place the lid over the top, and press 'egg'.

WARNING: this cooks by steam, and any remainder can cause burns. Be careful when removing the lid. Same goes for the product. The boiled eggs should not be touched directly.

To make an egg sandwich, load the egg side and the bread/english muffin/bagel into the toaster. Press the 'egg/toast' button BEFORE starting the toaster. The toaster will start on a timer so that the egg and toast will be done at the same time. When the toast pops up, you are good to go.

Note: there should be no water afterwards, maybe a little oil if you cooked meat. Hard water residue is easily removed with vineger and a paper towel.

Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
makes 1 generous quart
4 egg yolks
2/3 cup sugar
2 cups half-and-half
1 vanilla bean or 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup whipping cream
In a bowl, beat the egg yolks until blended and mix in sugar. Heat the half and half, stir into the egg yolks, and pour into the top part of a double boiler. Split the vanilla bean and scrape its seeds into the cream and add the bean as well. Place over simmering water and stirring constantly, cook until the mixture is custard-like and coats the spoon. Remove from heat and refrigerate until cold, or several hours. Remove vanilla bean. If using vanilla extract, stir it in at this point. Just before ready to churn; stir in the whipping cream. Freeze according to directions for your ice cream freezer.
