I need to know what voltages and where to check for ice maker on maytag model msd2454gr not getting water to fill tray, do get water thru door.

The water line shut is usually behind the unit.Pull it out from wall. Just turn clockwise to shut the water off. Depending on your model you can turn the ice maker off by letting up the handle in the ice tray.That shuts it off from making ice.Newer models have a button on door that reads ice off.But if it's leaking water.Shut water off and left handle up or ice off at door. That way it's not trying to make ice.

What is the refrigerator model number? In most cases the dual water control valve with have a mechanical defect and cause the water to flow by the valve even when off. W10408179 Water Inlet Valve

Either the fill solinoid is bad or the inlet tube at the ice maker is frozen.
Try running a hair dryer to remove any ice that may be blocking the water from coming into the ice maker tray.

If the ice maker is filling, but not ejecting the ice into the bin, then you first need to make sure that you have power to the unit. If the water is not filling the ice tray then the first thing you need to do is to make sure that water in getting up to the two zone value (normally in the freezer door next to the dispensor). It it is getting there then you need to check the sensor for the ice tray.

But first completely defrost the unit and make sure the line is not frozen to the ice maker.

If the ice maker no longer make ice, check the following.

Check to see whether the ice maker has been turned off. Here's how to check. Look for a wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If this wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. On some units you simply lower the wire to the down position to turn the ice maker on.

On others, you lower a small red plastic lever to lower the wire. If the wire is in the proper position check the freezer temperature, it should be between 0-8 degrees Fahranheit. If it is warmer than 10-12 degrees, the ice maker may not produce any ice.

Check your door seals and thermostat, repair/replace as necessary.

What you think is probably correct. Water valves can seep water and freeze the fill tube. Remove the ice maker and the fill tube remove ice from the fill tube and replace the water valve.

OK, Most times that would be the ice maker when they have an electronic module. Pour water in ice maker trays and let freeze. If it freezes and dumps but does not refill then the water control valve for that side is defective. If the cubes just sit there then for sure ice maker core.Let me know what happens and I will return soon with part numbers and locations, Thanks, Sea Breeze

That is most likely the water control valve on the rear of refrigerator and near the floor. If the ice maker is empty fill with tap water and let it freeze. If it dumps and does not refill the water control valve for the ice maker is defective. I will get back soon with the parts number. Thanks, Sea Breeze

i would recommend changing the water valves as they may be sticking or leaking now you can take the icemaker loose get a small baby bottle short the terminals to cycle water fill catch it with the bottle and see how much water it dumps should be about 4 ounces if the valve leaks will over fill the ice maker over a period of time say the valve is leaking a few drops at a time and the bail arm has the icemaker shut off because its touching ice in the bin but the water just keeps dripping down the fill tube till it runs over did you replace the whole icemaker or just the motor module
