Kenmore washing machine 110.22082, top loader continues recycling and does not drain water. The timer work then gets stuck. The machine does not drain but it sounds spining in rinsing mode for a few seconds then stops. The timing does not advance. For example: I use express wash for total of 22 minutes. It keeps recycling (keep filling water without draining) until 14 minutes left then the timer gets stuck. Could switch lid cause that? When open the lid the machine stops. A lot of water gets in machine but very very little drains. Water keep entering and adding to the existing water and that cause overflow. I also get LD (long drain) and OB (off balance) error codes. Please help. Thanks

Is it a top loader of front? It almost sounds as though you have a defective timer. If you can do a continuity test on the timer with a volt-ohm-meter or through a technician.
The timer is the most common problem. Call any appliance parts store and tell them the model number and ask for price for new timer. Also call sears appliance parts and get price. But a new timer and install it.
it may be waiting for a faulty heater to kick in. try it on a cold water wash, no heat and see if it continues the full wash. if it does not then it may have a faulty timer.
Timer is defective. Your unit has a netural drain. When finished agitating, the shuts down and then starts up reversing to drain and spin. On the initial reverse start, the water drains without the transmission spinning. After a timed period 3-4 minutes, the timer is supposed to pause, stopping the motor for a few seconds. When the motor stops again, the transmission shift to the spin cycle and when the timer resumes power tothe motor it should spin. You are doing the same thing when you lift the lid...stopping the timer and then the tranny shifts and when you set the lid down, the washer spins. Replace the timer.......
If it has a mechanical timer switch, (the main control knob) that is possibly the culprit. The timer switch is basically the "brain" of this type of washer. I had this problem on a washer.
We have one of two situations happening here. Either your timer is going or the motor is blown. The other thing is to put the machine into spin and see if it drains, let me know!
just keeps on draining with no water in the machine
