Most likely it is a broken 'spider'. That's the 3 armed part that holds the inner drum to the hub. Not uncommon. Can be expensive to fix. Can be done yourself. Check out videos on YouTube or repairclinic or appliancepartspros.

SOURCE: Maytag Neptune Front Load Washer Model MAH4000AWW low last spin

two problems here,
your shaft seal is running on its last leg
the sound is unmistakeable and always described the same...
the water issue, you probably have a trickle leak through the cold water valve
the mixing valve is quite an easy repair, but I would have to say with all honesty, it probably time for a new machine
the hub seal is a tub replacment call
2 hrs of labor if hes good
and the tub runs around 500.00 dollars
sory for the bad news

SOURCE: LG Washer WM0642HW: Not enough water

Turn clockwise the water level sensor set screw a half turn "clockwise" under the top of the machine lid. This is the only way to rid yourself of the WICK WATER RUB WASH METHOD that is just terrible. Especially with a full load ! BELIEVE ME. I really wonder if consumers who have the WM0642HW earlier produced version with the nozzle spray system in the top of the door seal are having these troubles?. Mine is a 2009 verson of the WM0642HW, No Forced Water Recirculation. ( Discontinued) and how it was preset for fill at the factory made it perform terribly. Only after i adjusted the water level sensor does it perform well the first time around. Have yet had to rewash anything since the adjustment i made for the fill level. Good Luck.

My LG front load washer doesn't spin as fast as it should (someone in my house OVER-filled it) and it seems to spin lop-sided. it still fills and drains properly. Any suggestion?

can you please give me the following information:
1] Is the inner tub ( the one that revolves when the machine is working) tilted and touching the outer tub ( the one the door rubber is fixed to) and does the inner tub turn freely, or is it rubbing on the outer tub?
2] is the door rubber sverely mishapen or distorted and not aligned with the door opening?
3] is the machine more noisy than normal?
4] Is the washing action normal or not?
If you have any of the problems from 1-3 above, then it is possible that you have danaged the inner tub or bearings.
If the wash action is NOT normal {No. 4}, it could also indicate a motor fault too.
One of the suspension dampers may have colapsed if the tub does not align with the door opening properly.

Without more information, or seeing the machine it is difficult do give a more positive diagnosis, but I hope this helps?

Wash down

That would depend on what you want to do with it. Although something that big cannot adequately spin out at high speed because it cannot balance itself. So if you select a setting with a highspeed spin it wont make it to the high speed.

Bearing noise in a lg washer

Check your owners manual, some models warranty the rear tub that houses the bearing and the inner spin basket. If not the rear outer tub and the gasket between both tubs will have to be replaced the correct the problem. If out of warranty it may not be cost effective to repair.

I have an LG Tromm front load washer. During the spin cycle it sounds like a plane is taking off and now I smell burning. Could anyone tell me what is happening. and what I need to replace in it. ...

It's not the gasket but the bearings at the back of the drum which are going. These can be replaced in some machines where you can split the drum but I'm not sure about LG. You can buy bearing kits by quoting the model number and serial or product number usually found on the inside of the door. This can be a laborious task and depending on how bad the bearings are in the machine an almost impossible task. My advice it's a new machine or check the manufacturers parts guarantee, you might be covered for parts only.
Hope this helps

My LG TROMM model # WM1812CW has a burning rubber smell when it's on the last high speed cycle. Can you help me locate the problem?

I just ran into this same situation. The problem was that the basket has been rubbing against the tub/door gasket. In this specific case it finally wore through the tub and was a hole through it. It si looking to be approx a $600 repair.

Lg wm2277hw. Shortly after wash cycle begins a loud brrrring noise starts from the front of the machine. It seems to be coming from just above the clean out on the lower left front of the machine. I have...

Try just manually turning the wash tub to see if you have the noise at that time. There may to an object rubbing on the tub. Look around the very front edge of the tub, right near the rubber door gasket. (note: if you spin the drum quickly, the control will light for a few seconds, due to the fact that you are actually using the motor to generate a little electrical current. This is not harmful to the machine.) Let me know what your results are, and if we will have to look further / elsewhere.
