Key facts. Escherichia coli (E. coli) is a bacteria that is commonly found in the lower intestine of warm-blooded organisms. Most E.coli strains are harmless, but some can cause serious food poisoning. Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC) is a bacterium that can cause severe foodborne disease.
E. coli (Escherichia coli), species of bacterium that normally inhabits the stomach and intestines. When E. coli is consumed in contaminated water, milk, or food or is transmitted through the bite of a fly or other insect, it can cause gastrointestinal illness. Mutations can lead to strains that cause diarrhea by giving off toxins, invading the intestinal lining, or sticking to the intestinal wall. Therapy for gastrointestinal illness consists largely of fluid replacement, though specific drugs are effective in some cases. The illness is usually self-limiting, with no evidence of long-lasting effects. However, dangerous strains, such as E. coli O157:H7 and E. coli O104:H4, can cause ****** diarrhea, kidney failure, and ***** in extreme cases. Proper cooking of meat and washing of produce can prevent infection from contaminated food sources. E. coli also can cause ******* tract infections in women. All of the above is the definition posted on google. Personally I’ve had mild strains of e coli & it wasn’t pretty. I had violent ****** diarrhea preceded by horrible stomach pains that felt as if I was getting stabbed over & over while my intestines were being ripped out! I even threw up. I was sick for 3 days before it finally left my system! People can get different types of e coli strains & the easiest one to avoid is the one passed along through touch. I now Wash my hands w/Soap & Warm water on a more regular basis, because it’s an easy way to make sure you’re Not giving it to yourself by not keeping your hands clean. Most people think you get e Coli from tainted chicken & yes that is true but its far more than that. Just be careful Not to cross contaminate cutting up raw chicken w/the same knife or on the same cutting board as you would bread or anything else before you’ve washed the knife & cutting board thoroughly w/Hot water & Soap. Because you can also get sick through cross contamination as well. I hope this info helped you! Be safe, keep your hands clean & Good luck!

SOURCE: Friend had a tank with e coli bacteria and sadly died. The tank has been emptied and flows over a pumpkin patch with pumpkins ready to pick. Are they infected? GH

Well, I would not be surprised. E-coli is very contagious bacteria. I'd have your local county agent notified.

W/o it work if I don't add shock to the water, is it dangourse to swim in whilst it's green

Hello Jeannette -

The green color in a swimming pool is a sign of algae.

Apparently, the big problem with algae is the bacteria which can feed on algae waste.

Regarding bacteria feasting on algae waste . . .
(Quote)
Some of the most encountered problems are gastrointestinal illnesses, like E.coli and Giardia, rashes, skin lesions and other dermal infections, respiratory infections and swimmer's ear.

Personal opinions: I won't swim in an algae filled pool. You shouldn't either or subject anyone else to a swim in algae filled pool. Clean it up and keep the pool well-maintained, or drain the pool and cover the empty pool so no one will be subject to an accident.

Best wishes.

What is aerobic water treatment?

Aerobic water treatment means that bacteria that are oxygen dependent are converting contaminations in the water. Aerobic bacteria can only convert compounds when plenty of oxygen is present, because they need it to perform any kind of chemical conversion.

Why do bacterias attack humans?

Parasitic bacteria invade humans because they cannot survive otherwise. The human body is their natural environment and their metabolic functions can be carried out only by disrupting ours. So they attack and invade humans.

How do I clean the water lines on a refrigerator?

The ice dispenser spill shelf should be wiped dry immediately to prevent spotting if excessive spills occur. Water left on the shelf may leave deposits. Placing a paper towel under the grill will help absorb the water that would normally stand on the shelf.
To remove deposits, soak the area with one of the following solutions:
  • Undiluted vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon of non-precipitating water softener
  • Mixture of 1 teaspoon of citric acid powder (NOT to be used in stainless steel dispensers) per 1 pint of hot tap water.

Soak until the deposit disappears or becomes loose enough to wipe away. Usually 30 minutes of soaking time is adequate.
