I have an SL-6151-RX-A wireless door chime using codes 5,6,7 and it sometimes rings by itself. How can I change the code?
Doorbell button is sticking or slightly pressed in. Check to see if cover is installed correctly. It may be on on one side.
If its not that the button stck, it may be a neighbor has a similar unit. You can alter the code to be unique. Open up both the button and the main unit and switch the codes using the
pins & connecotr covers. It done on a row of pin sets - Default is usually connectors on
5-6-7 (8 on the main bell unit causes the dingdong to change to a
Westminster chime).
With a pair of needle nose pliers pull the
connector and set them on different numbers than they were (but your units must match exactly). You must do this on both
your main unit and button pieces, When you have a unique code its no longer an issue with the
neighbors.
