if you have installed active sysnc then the device should connect. If it doesnt i would check in my computer to see if it is showing as connecte. Also when you connect the usb lead to the phone it should pop up a selection on the phone to how you want to connect make sure you choose active sync. the screen only appears for a few seconds then it will connect with the last selected option

Ways to connect or access internet below :
When you connected your Diamond to your PC, what did it get recognized as? What does it show up as in your PC's Device Manager? On
your device, do you have Internet Sharing or Wireless Modem? If it is
Wireless Modem, after you connect your device to your PC, you Start
Wireless Modem and that should install the Modem Drivers. If you have Internet Sharing, what is the message you get on the device after tap connect (Check USB, Disconnected, etc.)? Try updating active sync software to the latest, at least 4.5 I'd think. Not sure if there's a newer version out. Also, Connect your phone to
your pc by using the USB cable provided with your phone. On your phone
you should go to Window Icon at top left corner of screen, then go to
Programs on the drop down menu. From there choose Internet Sharing.
Once you tap Internet Sharing you will be prompted at the bottom left of
the screen to Connect. Tap Connect and then you will see your pc
recognize the connection on the bottom right of computer screen. It
will install the drivers and then from there you are good to go. Hope
this helps! Thank you for contacting FixYa
Connect your phone to the PC via USB cable and use ActiveSync (windows xp) or Windows Mobile Device Center to synchronize your data.
Or:
Connect your phone to the PC and open as a drive in "Computer" on the PC.
After you connect your phone, open your phone's Settings/Connections and chose the usb connection type you want to use.
Thank you for using Fixya, your generous rating will be much appreciated.
I believe you should firstly configurate your wifi connection with the wireless router, and after testing your connection (using your internet explorer for example) you will not receive any connection problems while configuring you gmail account.
Tap Start>Settings go to Connections then tap on the Advanced tab at the bottom. Tap the "Select Networks" button. Select your wireless network that you have created for the internet connection instead of the mobile internet connection.
