SOURCE: i have a husqvarna 172 ride-on lawnmower. Running

This unit probably has a safety switch built into it and it could be below the gas tank. If this switch isn't adjusted properly then it's designed to cut off the motor. I think you should concentrate on that before attempting anything else.

SOURCE: how to disengage or fix chain break on husqvarna

It sounds as though you have tried resetting the brake to no avail. If I were you any Monday through Friday at 1300 - 1500 I would be in my local Husky dealer (not Lowes). Someone familiar with the saw that can see and touch it. I suspect you will need parts once the problem is isolated, order them there and the diagnosis will probably be gratis. Factor in the shipping and handling fee and most dealer prices are competitive.

If you have more questions or need additional help please reply below and I will get back to you. Good Luck. HTH

SOURCE: husqvarna pto problem(?) disengaged blades to travel, would not engage after. Battery dead when checked after shutting off engine and wouldn't restart

Hi, first charge or replace the battery if necessary then check that the mower is charging the battery. The pto is probably fine but it needs battery voltage to engage. If the mower has stopped charging the battery may have had enough voltage to hold the pto in until you disengaged it but not enough to re engage it. Regards Phil.

SOURCE: On my 42in cut hydro. Husqvarna, The mower will not disengage until the speed is reduced to a low idle

Before you do anything else check to make sure the blades are engaged on thier seat ( the star) and the blade bolts are tight.
If you have an electric PTO this does not apply to you.
After confirming that your blades are tight check the operation of the PTO cable and the pivot bracket by lowering the deck all the way. Laying on the ground on the discharge side of the mower you will be able to look at the components and see and touch whats not moving freely as you engage and disengage the PTO lever. Look for a stiff PTO cable, stiff pivot bracket, missing return spring, broken spindle brackets and broken deck bracket welds.
Of course you should never work on any mechanical device while it is running.

Zero turn will not move forward reverse or turn

These units use Hydraulic pumps for motivation. If the unit stopped all at one time, I suspect a drive belt came off.
For both pumps to fail at the same time would be very odd. Check the v-belt driving the wheel pumps.

Bracket clutch anti-rotation

Without the anti-rotation arm installed when you engaged the PTO the clutch spun and probably ripped out the wires connecting it to the harness. This can be repaired but is tricky. If you have a Husqvarna dealer close by, it will save you several hours of labor to have them correct the problem.

More will start but will not run with e-brake off and in turn will not engage the mower blades

No, this is a micro switch issue, to prove this find the single black lead coming from the ignition unit ( cut out wire ) and diss connect it and try again, be aware it will not switch off at the ignition switch with this wire not connected.
