SOURCE: ptac fan keeps blowing

Try setting the fan control to "AUTO" this will cause it to cut out with the compressor.

SOURCE: DH30 Dehumidifier Compressor Does not Operate

I just picked one up at a tag sale, seller said it worked sometimes. Seems to have the same problem as yours. I took the time to tweak all of the connections and then re-soldered the control board with no luck. I finally disconnected the humidity control and it worked fine. By disconnecting the humidity control the unit defaults to it's highest setting and you have to unplug the unit to turn it off. Conclusion so far is that the humidity control rheostat is bad.
Note: Now while running the fan runs continuously and the compressor cycles on and off every 10 to 15 minutes. This may to be normal since the unit appears to be doing its job and I'm not sure how it is supposed to run since a purchased it broken.

SOURCE: RV air conditioner. Compressor running, fan stops before cool

The fan motor is getting hot and going off on the internal overload in the motor.
This is caused by either a low voltage, a bad capacitor, or tight or dry bearings in the motor.
To check the bearings turn the power off to the unit, then spin the fan blade if it spins freely then the bearings are ok.
To check the capacitor you will need some kind of tester or you can buy a capacitor and replace it, that's what a lot of people do. They usually don't cost very much.
To check the voltage you will need a voltmeter and measure the volts at the unit.

SOURCE: Blowing hot air, compressor not kicking on, just fan ? ?

are you speaking of the outside fan or inside? compressor should be a little warm but not boiling hot. the unit could be low on freon. if low it will run a while but the compressor will overheat and shut off leaving the fan running by itself ouside. if nothing outside is running check power. if you have power check the contacted outside to make sure it's pulled in. contacters are bad about going out on goodman untis. Also ants can get under contacts.

SOURCE: Humidifier compressor does not stay on more than 1-2 minutes

Sounds like bad relay on compressor or bad compressor. There is only so far you can go yourself without knowledge in electrical and AC units. Suggest you call a service tech or if you can take it to service cemter near you. Russ

Amana Wall unit blows cold air before heating

The cold that you describe may be just unconditioned air? If you are certain you can hear the comp operating for a couple of minutes, and then the heat starts, I would guess it is a reversing valve issue if it's a heat pump and it probably is. Or the control board acting up. I've had a lot of issues with the boards in the Amanda PTAC units. I can't remember how to configure it, but if you Google "Amanda ptac configuration", there is a lot of info online. May try a reset method first. Hope this helps!

Auto/On set to ON. Fan runs.

Sounds like the thermostat, the way to verify is to unplug indoor unit, remove thermostat, take pic of wiring with phone or label the wires as to the terminals. Carefully twist the yellow,(Y) Red (R) and the green (G) together. Plug the furnace back in, if the unit operates normally, replace the thermostat. I am basing this on the fact that the blower speed is changing. This could also be an anomaly within the circuit board in the furnace section, not likely though as the outside unit (condenser) is not controlled n by the indoor board unless this is a heat pump. hope this helps. Stat issues with GE Zoneline

Your coils on the outside unit may need cleaning. When they get dirty, air cannot flow through them to remove heat from the refrigerant. When this happens pressure increases until it trips a safety and shuts the unit down.
It won't run again until the pressure drops to a safe level. Also check your drain line..Make sure it's dripping. If not it's clogged and that will trip the safety switch not allowing water to back up

Compressor only stays on for 2-3 minutes than shuts off

if the sensors are okay, it might be the compressor overheating, my portable ac (moretti elite ac) is also behaving the same, especially when i turn the fan to max. the compressor shuts down about 7 mins and turns on again in about 5 mins, now i found out when i turn to medium or low the compressor runs normally. i think when on medium or low setting some of the cool air directs/channels to the compressor thus cooling it more.

My Trane PTAC unit has a problem with the compressor kicking on, fan runs, clicking noise like it is trying to kick on, but takes a good 15 minutes set at a low temp. setting for it to finally engage.

Hi,
The compressor start capacitor is bad...it is not giving enough "kick" to get the motor running...
at least it is a good idea to change this first because if this does not work then the compressor needs to be changed out...

Compressor will not stay on.

very good possibility that it is low on freon. If indoor unit is blowing ambient air, not cooling is happening. If this is the case and you are sure the compressor is running and then shutting off, the compressor could be overheating and the internal overload is taking out the compressor. If outdoor fan runs and compressor runs, probably cause. If capacitor is bad, unit would most likely not run that long. While unit is running, feel the large line at the condensing unit. If it is cold, and stays cold, could be something else going on. If stays warm, most likely low on freon.

LG PTAC acting strange in heat mode

I believe the problem in lies in the dual stage heat mode setup on the thermostat, but the unit going into defrost does make the unit act kinda strange. Even more so than other types of equipment. I would suggest hiring a licensed HVAC service technician if the problem cannot be resolved by yourself.
