I recently purchased a RCA L6H Media player from Hongkong. I have been encountering several problems when playing some .mkv files (which are very large files 4gb to 10gb per movie). While playing the movie, sometimes after 20 minutes or so, the player stops, goes back to the main menu, then flashes the message ''unsupported file''. When I play the movie again, the problem sometimes recurrs but sometimes it does not. However, when I do play .avi files which have a smaller file size, I do not have any problems. Hope you can help me with this. I really like the product but I am disappointed with its performance
Try some other MKV player programs to play the MKV files on your PC to see if there is any issue with the MKV files. You can try Leawo Blu-ray Player which is a free MKV player for Windows and Mac users.
It could be due to outdated codec.
You can try to install CCCP or K-Lite Codec Pack that you can download in the link below
Make sure to remove all codec packs that you have installed before installing the codec packs.
