Minolta Error code C0500

I saw a former response on this code which states the following:
C0500 refers to a low fuser temperature. You can attempt to clear the code by using the tech rep service mode.
Go to "Counter"
Go to "Trouble"
Trouble reset.

My question is: How do I get to the Tech Rep. Service Mode, and the Counter, and Trouble, and how do I reset Trouble? All me keys are frozen after the C0500 code.
Regards
Hoomy

I finally got to the Tech. Rep. Mode, and pressed the following:
    "Counter"
    "Trouble"
and then pressed the code C0500 which had a 1 in front of it. I pressed "Clear" which changed the count in front of code C0500 to 0, but when I exited the screen it went back to Error Code C0500, and the screen asked me to contact a Tech. rep.
I also pressed the reset button several times using a straightened paper clip, but the same code appeared on the screen, once the machine re-booted.

Any further suggestions or tricks to clear C0500?

    Regards,
    Hoomy

    Dear Soulvisitor,

Sorry that you feel upset. Thanks a million for pointing me in the right direction. In all fairness though the forum charges a fee for getting my problem fixed. Even though it is obviously not your fault, my problem was NOT fixed. You offered me a diagnostic which did not work in my case. No hard feelings....
    Keep up the good work

    Dear Soulvisitor,

I'd like to have what you were smoking when you wrote me those lovely notes. Thank you, thank you, and again thank you.

    Let's start this over again.

I have an error code C0500 and resetting it did not take care of it. Can you tell me how to change the fuser, and where to buy a used or re-built fuser?

If at all you feel used or abused on this forum, please do not respond. I have no problem spending $10 or for that matter spending $100 to get my problem fixed. I just need it FIXED.....

Again Millions of thanks to you and your Techy kind...
    Hoomy

Put it this way, you are mopping the floor with the hole in your roof, and wondering why you have to keep mopping

What one does is fix the problem then reset it

As you well know "C0500 refers to a low fuser temperature. You can attempt to clear the code" so guess what surprise surprise....the code is trying to tell you that your fuser aint heating up, go figure, replace it, then reset code... and then no more mopping will be needed!!!!

Oh and if I seem a little upset maybe because you can't even be bothered to thank me for getting you the code you couldn't find and now proudly tell me that you have found the way to tec mode.... I have answered your question " How do I get to the Tech Rep. Service Mode" and all I get is no rating as solved, nor any hint of thanks and now more questions, which once again I have answered, cheers mate.

Your problem was stated as how to reset code, if you had of asked as you have now ,how to fix error co500 I would of told you in all likely hood, you need to fix the fuser then reset the code, you cant expect us to fix a problem that requires you to do something ie replace fuser, so in all fairness the only thing preventing your machine from working is you

I f you wish to go deeper then I will tell you to test continuity on the heater lamp, thermal fuse and thermistor with your fuser removed from copier, you will find one or more of these components open circuit, if you want you can replace individual parts of the fuser ie the lamp, thermal fuse or thermistor, but I bet your dollar very shortly after another part of your fuser will need replacing again so to save the hassle of another breakdown and unaware people playing with hi-volts, one replaces the unit because it is a known wearing part in every copier/laser printer.

You have had more than your 9.95 worth out of me and fixya. I charge 113.00 just walking threw someones door, that's without the 95.70/h labour cost

I did not offer you a diagnostic fix, that is what you asked for... big difference and the fix did work it reset the code, like you say it aint my fault that you posted wrong question you decided that the code was your fix not I.

You can have this problem up till the the end of time but unless you or someone, does some physical work on you machine no amount of words will ever fix it for you. I dont really care for the 3 bucks I stand to receive for a successfully fix, I care about my rating and being appreciated for time spent helping you and those like you, it was nice to finally get your thanks cause I do appreciate that acknowledgment but still a helpful or at worst a thanks for trying seems beyond your budget, leaving it unrated, like so many do is just ungrateful and I just feel that my time with you has been wasted, another never satisfied customer, did you expect one of us to come on over and do it all for you for your 9.95? Hang on I'll get out my magic wand. (and with a puff of smoke a teco decides that some people just take forever and are not worth his time, smoke clears teco is gone)

Teco grins, humor level reached, customer seems to be conprehending...., the fusers the hot bit at left/paper exit of machine bit where paper passes threw to get fused, runs 240v

Fuser purchase link same place offers rebuilt exchance assembely for $165.00 there goes your budget!!

p.s. check fuser for open circuit first, sometimes although rare it can be the board that drives it.

Yeah yip yip ya, cheers happy happy joy joy.

The machine has the error code c0500. I need to know how to reset the error

Hi,

Code C-0510 means a low fuser temperature. Most probable cause for that - the fuser lamp is probably defective. Try first to clear the error code (if the lamp is close to its life's end the code may pop up after a long print) so do this: power machine off; turn on the machine with the stop key held down; turn off, then on again. If this doesn't fix it then you need a new fuser

Thank you for contacting FixYa

Go to "Trouble"
Trouble reset
If "warm Restart Swich" is asked for- This can be actuated through a small access hole on the right side of the control panel, using a straightened paper clip or something similar.
You may need to clear the counter by pressing "clear" and then "end".
After clearing the code, power cycle the copier. If it comes to "ready" you are all set. If not, you may have a blown heat lamp or thermal fuse which would need to be replaced by a technician. Good Luck!!"
