I want to replace the trimmer head with another one, but can't get the old one off
SOURCE: Ryobi 18V Hedge Trimmer Blade Question
Just buy a file and push 3 or 4 down strokes down the same slope of the cutter toward the sharp edge. Never file on the flat top of the cutter, only on the slope. Support the frame using a saw horse or pick-up bed. The support makes the file cut the metal better. You can do the same thing with chain saws. You just need the file that fits the cutter. You just hold a consistant angle and count out the same number of strokes. Also, clean out junk between the moving parts, tighten any loose screws, and drop a few drops of 3 in 1 oil between the moving parts. Having things sharpened at a shop is inconvenient and expensive.

There is a nut above the head, place a wrench on the nut then unscrew the head from the shaft, unless yours is different from mine this is how it works. I hope this helps.

Grasp the outer portion of the cutting head in your left hand and turn the inner knob with your right. Depending on model, some bump knobs are threaded and some are post and notch. Use a little spray like wd40 to loosen the mechanism. It may take a firm hand, but the two will separate so that you can reload the line. Consider reloading with the .095 five sided line. It cuts much easier than the round line.
SOURCE: Does it harm a Ryobi 18v lithium battery to leave on Charger?
Lithium-Ion batteries require careful charging and temperature monitoring while in the charger. Ryobi's Charging station monitors many functions and shuts off when the battery has gone through a complete charge. This is indicated by a steady Green light. Once the Charge indicator is a steady green the charger stops charging. With any battery It will slowly discharge and I don’t think the Ryobi will maintain a battery that is never removed. For example, if after a complete charge cycle if the battery was left there for 2 years and then you went to use it, it would likely be completely discharged. However if the battery charger is unplugged then plugged back in a new charge sequence would start. I lose power at my house about every 6 months or so. Once power is restored a new cycle would start and the charging cycle begins again.
Hope this helps and have a great day.
