I never had ANY problems with my Sony Trinitron WEGA SRS TV until a few days ago when all of the sudden it wouldn't turn on. I gently shook the TV and it actually came on. This happened and the same method worked for me twice. I never should have shut it off again, as it now won't even attempt to turn on. The standby/timer light blinks 9 times, pauses, and blinks 9 more times, this happens repeatedly! This TV is only a few years old too!!! Please help, I don't want to buy another TV!!!
A specific model number will probably get you more specific
help.. but if you check around the internet by model number
you will likely be presented with some SERIOUS PART opportunities...
The FASHING LIGHT means you have a hard fault in the power circuits...
The number of flashes is mean to point you to a specific area...
I gave all my big flat screens away in favor of the new
HD stuff... (certainly less reliable than those Sony sers...
Shopjimmy might be a great place to call... but the MODEL NUMBER is a MUST.

support.
I
know this isn't what you want to hear, but the problem you've
described can't be fixed with troubleshooting.
Your TV
will have to be repaired. There is a part that has developed a defect
and needs to be replaced. If you're still in warranty, the TV will be
repaired at no charge to you. The warranty would likely be at least
one year from the date of purchase from the manufacturer. If you
purchased an extended service
plan
they will repair the TV at no charge as well.
If the TV is no
longer in warranty, it will likely cost a minimum of $150 parts and
labor. This is assuming that you only need one circuit
board
or small part. If the problem is more than one of the circuit boards,
the price of repair could go much higher.
