Kenmore bottom freezer refrigerate leaks

Leaks inside freezer and melts making a sheet of ice in bottom of freezer and leaks outside under refrigerator puddling on the floor. Under the panel in the bottom of freezer when pushed down seems to "crunch" as though it is frozen and icy as well. I removed the cover in back of freezer and see a drain tray, but its not even damp.

To remove back panel I would have to remove freezer door/drawer and ice maker. Hubby made me promise not to (afraid we'd never get it back together again properly). However, I did use a blow dryer on the vents in back of freezer and in bottom of frig then left it open all night. Finally the water found the drip tray, so it's thawing. I cleaned the tray and now have a drop light inside the freezer in hopes it'll help evaporate the water I cannot get to. I know it'll take longer to evaporate this way, but hopefully we won't have to dismantle the entire thing. I've had a couple weeks of this kind of thing happening, fixed our leaky faucet -- replacing it with a new one which fell off the minute my hubby got home (worked all day for me). Washer wouldn't drain, had to get a new wash machine. Stove oven heating element fell out of oven. 2 burners stopped working any way, so replaced range. In other words, right now I'm a walking disaster area! LOL Thanks so much for your help Mike. You're great!

Hello, this sounds like you have a blockage in the drain tube, remove panel back of freezer..you may see ice build up...melt ice with hair dryer/heat gun...you will see a pan below evaporator...melt ice in pan...dry water up in pan with paper towel...now you should see a hole in pan that leads to drain tube...pour some hot water in pan..wait a couple minutes..mop up water and repeat this step 2-3 times....once you have done this find some flexible curatain wire or electrical wire..poke down the hole until you see the water drain..now it is clear..put back panel back and you are good to go. The reason you see water in the Freezer is because the water has been leaking into the freezer instead of running into the drain hole...If you need any further assistance please feel free to comment again. good luck! P.s Please don't forget to rate my solution thanks! Mike.

Ice build-up at bottom of GE Monogram refrigerator. Ice melts and leaks onto floor. How do I resolve this problem?

The drain hole is blocked, so water is not drain and getting freezed, and then melting and it leaks.--------the drain is stopped up ,, remove the inside back panel inside the freezer and pour hot water into the troft under the coil in the back and flush the drain ,, once water runs though the drain hole then put the panel back in and it will be fine.
------------------
The drain tube is located below the pan below the fins at the rear of your freezer. The drain tube has a trap (s-shaped curve) to prevent air flow out of the freezer. The problem is that water gets in this tube and freezes. You can take the sheet metal cover off the back, get a turkey baster and flexible tube, and continuously flush hot water.this will clear the clog.--------- Thanks.

Water build up back of freezer inside drips to bottom and leaks from under door.Looks like their is some sort of tray with hole in back then it overflows drips to bottom of freezer some of water freezes...

Our GE Profile leaked from the freezer door and this is what I was told by a service man to try before he came and it worked. There should be a "well" on the bottom of your freezer floor where the water runs when it defrosts. Yours is probably now covered with a sheet of ice. You can melt the ice with a hairdryer using dry towels to soak up the water as you work or really hot wet rags and ring them out in the sink. After all the ice is removed pour a small amount of warm water into the "well" and stick your finger in there and "plunge" it - like you would a clogged toilet - with your finger. This will purge the ice that blocked the drain. Check on this every couple of months to make sure you don't end up with the same problem in a year or so.

Ice build up on bottom of freezer. Water leaks out of freezer possibly from melting. Water leaks onto floor of kitchen.

Your problem is possibly one of two things. The ice maker is leaking or the defrost tray behind the rear panel inside freezer back wall is clogged with ice or something else. If you know its not the ice maker unplug the refrigerator and remove the back panel to see if the drain is blocked there, Let me know, Sea Breeze

Kenmore 54246400 water on floor - from inside bottom freezer

check the drain hole in the freezer. must likely it is plugged. use hotwater and towel and slowly melt the ice to open the hole. also check the hose that leads to the drain pan. ((back or the buttom of the freg.) it may also need cleaning. use a soft wire (electric wire with small piece of towel tapped to the front).

Refridgerator Leaks

I can't find this model number anywhere and am unfamiliar with the "Evolution" series. However, if it is a top/bottom unit (freezer on top, fridge on bottom) it sounds like you have a clogged drain.

If you pull the back panel off inside of the freezer (where the evaporator is housed) you will see a drain hole, usually in the rear center) that is probably full of ice. If this drain is plugged, it will cause the water to back up into the refrigerator, usually onto the top shelf or under the veggie bins, and possibly onto the floor.

You need to clear it out, and make sure that water flows through it freely, to the pan underneath the unit. The best way to do this is with a hair dryer and a copper wire, but be careful not to melt the inside of the freezer with it. When it's clear, you might want to take a hose and blow through it to make sure there's nothing trapped inside.

Please let me know if you need any further help with this issue.
