if you pause the song that is playing the symbol next to the battery should change to a folder. when it does you press the mode button and it will bring up a menu called music mode. if select local folder at the top you can access all your music or delete the current song or delete all the songs
Hi, follow the instructions below to reset your Nextar mp3 player
To customize the player settings:
(1) On the main menu, select the “Settings”item and press the MENU button to enter the
system settings mode.
(2) Press the PREVIOUS/NEXT button to select setting item and press the MENUbutton to
confirm or press the PLAY/PAUSE button to cancel/return.
(3) System
(4) Load Default - Restore the player to default setting
You probably already did this, but here is the proper method to change the backlight timer:
1. Press Menu button to return to the Main Menu.
2. Move to Settings and select it.
3. Select Display.
4. Select Backlight.
5. Press |<< or >>| button to select desired backlight timer.
Click menu and scroll to the setup screen and hit reset.
then go back to the music it will say file error then use the right button to browse to next song and you will see your songs. If however in the music you don't see any songs (number 1of 64 or whatever) then you have to reload your songs.
Next, if that does not work. Go to setup select format complete, (note this will reformat the player) then go to your computer (in explorer) and copy the music right to the music folder (only songs don't copy folders into the music folder on the device.)
then go back to setup, select reset and go back to music menu. You may still have a file error just hit the next button and there are your songs.
HELP - Nokia N96 Music Player Problem Well basically this is the problem , I got my brand new Nokia N96 two weeks ago. At first when I added the music, and I did the Refresh Library , it worked perfectly fine. But then after a few days, I added a few songs, but when I did Refresh Library, it didn't find any music
So I tried lots of different suggestions but I couldn't fix it so I decided to reformat my phone. After that when , I added music it worked again. But yesterday I added 5 new songs and again the music player didn't find the songs
Please people of Dotsis, I truly believe that one of you can solve this problem or give me any suggestion as I'm really worried about this problem...
This is a mp3 player not a quicktime player if I understood that it does not need quick time.
You use the menu button navigate to the play music button and press menu to select, then it plays wherever you left off, then use the left and right direction buttons to scroll to the next one back or next one forward.
When you are in the menu mode, you can use the left and right direction buttons to scroll to the folder icon and use the menu as the select and it will descend to you folders.
I know it sounds complicated but once you use it a couple of times, it will come easy. And the play and pause key becomes cancel or escape key when you are in menu mode.
But if you say you want to play when the MA566 is connected to the pc, then you should use the MTP mode turn the MA566 as a thumb drive, I found it is much simpler and less confusion - Winodws itself gets confused very easily.
Then you just navigate to the thumb drive to the songs and click to play them.
** Important, this is more than a caution, Windows tend to kill thumb drive's FAT table, that is another reason, not safe with Media player or autoplay. ** ALWAYS USE THE GREEN SAFE REMOVAL MODE TO STOP THE THUMB DRIVE BEFORE REMOVING ANY THUMB DRIVE FROM A LIVE WINDOW SESSION - OR ELSE TURN OFF THE ENTIRE COMPUTER BEFORE REMOVAL. ** WINDOWS KEEPS THE FILE ALLOCATION TABLE, AND KEEP A +5VDC TO THE THUMB DRIVE. BY CHOOSING THE SAFE REMOVAL, WINDOWS WILL FLUSH AND REWRITE THE FAT TABLE, AND STOP THE +5VDC NOT TO GO TO THE THUMB DRIVE SO THAT YOU CAN REMOVE ONCE IF POP-UP TO SAY == SAFE TO REMOVE.
i hope it helps, and believe me, first time disconnect may be luck if it still works, second time, again super luck, but many people didn't even get the first chance.

Hold the menu button (the m button, in the middle), then it will go to the main menu.
Then click on the music button with the "m" but dont hold it then click the play button and then click the volume button wile the sign next to the bar that tells you how long the song is and how long it takes to get done. check the volume if you have it on pause or stop it will go strait to the record button. try it and if it dont work then srry.
