Hello Paul, sorry to hear about your problem with the ASUS, hopt that is the correct ID. I attach a link to an old webpage that talks about failed bios flash on that device. I am not certain that it is relevant but it appears so, hope it proves of use.If it does not, listing your device , searching for your device, and adding the phrase, 'bior recovery' might find you appropriate/helpful results. Good Luck.

SOURCE: Bios update disaster

You have to download the old bios with another PC and then flash your bios with that.

Use this list to find your bios download depending on your video chip.

SOURCE: coating film on screen has a 'hole' after cleaning

Not panic!

I'm reading it and i did it again, to give you the advise. the plasma screen is glass that's sure, then:

The actual problem is really simple. because i remember my last jobs with plasma and this is actually a film protector the manufacture use when the part is not installed yet in the actual tv set.

  • Your husband is right. (but the plastic is like one or two inches inside the frame and is hold it by the frame and the screws attaching the display.
  • if the tv is under manufacture's warranty have them clean their mistake. call them and make them peel it off for you.
  • but if there is not any waranty on it. then the solution is as you can figure it out . Have some one who can actually take all parts apart and finally peel off this film and put anything back together as is now. to let the tv cristal clear at the front.

SOURCE: The bios update failed on my 4g asus eeepc

What you need to do is to get the manual for the motherboard os you can reset the BIOS. On the other hand, you may not be able to preform that. This model is like a netbook and try this, remove the battery and the power cord. give it 15min. put the battery back in and reboot the system and than the power cord. that should help. if not, than a tech person is your next step.

I was updating my dell latitude E6400 bios software but light went off during the process of updating and it's keeps showing invalid configuration

If the power went off during the process of updating the BIOS on your Dell Latitude E6400, it can cause the system to become unstable and display an "invalid configuration" error. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:
  1. Try to boot the computer: Turn on the computer and try to boot into the operating system. If it doesn't boot, try to boot into the BIOS by pressing the F2 key repeatedly when the Dell logo appears on the screen.
  2. Check the battery: Make sure that the battery is properly connected and has a charge. If the battery is low, it may cause the system to shut off during the BIOS update.
  3. Run BIOS recovery: Dell has a BIOS recovery feature that can be used to recover the BIOS in case of corruption. To run the recovery, you will need to create a BIOS recovery USB drive and boot the computer from it. Follow the instructions on the Dell website to create the recovery drive and run the recovery process.
  4. Try a different power source: If you were using a battery during the update, try using the AC adapter instead. If you were using the AC adapter, try using a different one, or a different outlet to make sure that the power supply is stable.
  5. Take to a repair shop: If the above steps do not work, it may be best to take the computer to a repair shop for further diagnosis.
It's important to note that running a BIOS recovery may cause you to lose all data on your computer, please make sure to backup your data before proceeding.

Power comes on but no bios screen shows up, no video form motherboard or pci card

I would think that the problem is probably related to heat damage.

Take the number of hours you left the computer on, triple it, and thats how long you should leave the computer off. Than try again if not than you might want to think about updating the BIOS.

Warning a BIOS Update is a Last Resort Think very carefully about that before you decide to proceed.

How to update bios

To find the current BIOS version, follow the steps below:
  1. Restart the computer and enter the BIOS screen by pressing the F1 or F10 key at the first screen.
  2. Write down the BIOS revision number from the Main page. You will use this number to see if HP has a later version available.
    1. Go to the HP Software download page
    2. If you are presented with a page to enter your model number, type in your model number. For example, Pavilion p6230f or TouchSmart 600-1050uk.
    3. Select the version of Windows the computer is using.
    4. Click the BIOS link.
      • If a BIOS update is not listed, HP does not have a BIOS update posted for your computer at this time.
      • If there are several BIOS updates available for different motherboard names, you need to find out what motherboard is installed in your computer. To do this, turn off the power to the computer, remove the side panel, and read the name printed on the motherboard. The name of the motherboard should match or be similar to the name of the download link.
      • If a BIOS update is listed, continue to the next step to download and install the BIOS update.

Click the download link. The instructions for downloading and installing BIOS updates vary. For most computers with Windows XP, download the file, open it and follow the on-screen instructions. For many computers before Windows XP, save the downloaded file to the hard drive, insert a formatted disk, open the downloaded file to copy the BIOS files to the disk, and then restart the computer with the disk still in the drive. The instructions on the download page may be different so carefully read and follow the instructions on the download page and in the installation setup screens. If a 251 or CMOS Checksum error occurs after installing the BIOS update, perform the following steps:
        1. Restart the computer and enter the BIOS screen by pressing the F1 or F10 key at the first screen.
        2. Press the F5 key to load the default BIOS configuration.
        3. Select YES by using the arrow keys, and then press Enter .
        4. Press the F10 key to save the settings and exit.
        5. Select YES by using the arrow keys, and then press Enter .
When the BIOS update is complete, the new BIOS revision number is updated on the Main BIOS screen.

Screen went dead, unplugged the graphics card and

So basically you cannot get the pc to POST. Meaning you have just a black screen when you power on the pc, right?

First off, did you attempt to update BIOS before this happened. 90% of the time this is caused by a corrupt bios.

If you did not try to update BIOS before the problem started then try these troubleshooting steps.

1. Full power down. Unplug the power cord from the Power supply. Then hold down the pc power button.
Try to boot the pc.

2. Open the case and reseat the graphics card, hard drive, and RAM.

3. Take out one of the RAM sticks if there is 2 or more. Swap the RAM sticks in different RAM slots.

4. Set the Cmos jumper to clear. Power up the pc. Power down the PC. Set the Cmos jumper back to normal position, power up the PC.

5. Unplug and replug all the power supply cables.

6. Check the powersupply function. Either by a powersupply voltage checker, put the powersupply in a different pc, or try a different powersupply in the problem computer.

Could be bad ram, motherboard, cpu, powersupply, videocard.

If the video card is suspected to be damaged, try it in a other pc (friend's, mom's or dad's, pentagons' ).

if it is bad, there is your answer.
