I hope you solved this problem. It can be fixed, but the best option is to get a new welder. A lot of people get just the welder, and they forget about the equipment that should go with it. This is how welding injuries happen. That will not happen to me, I have everything from the welding gloves to the welding table. Having stuff like that makes the job much easier, and it is also safer. If you want to know more about welding tables check out https://afterpaints.com/best-welding-tab.... I was able to make a much better decision about which welding table to get after reading that article.

Sounds like a thermostat is overreacting. If you can call the manufacturer that will help. Good luck.

SOURCE: Welding machine stops working after a few minutes of welding.

there is probley nothing wrong its called duty cycle.which means that if you are welding long periods or welding at max amps the welder will kickout to cool down.Look on your unit for the tag that tells imformation about your unit.It will show something like 30% duty cycle so that means you can weld 3 minutes at full power before the unit shuts down.

SOURCE: Lincoln 135 PRO MIG Welder feed stops after a few minutes

1/4" plate with a 135 amp machine is probably beyond it's duty cycle abilites. If you are using a mixed gas, and pushing the max on the settings, it will be cutting out because it is designed to.
You might want to get a higher amperage welder for consistent welding of 1/4"
The 140 Pro maxes out at 5/16" using inner shield wire. and 1/8", or 10 guage with gas.

SOURCE: I have a Colossal Tech

O.C is Over Current, this basically means that the welder has been "Overloaded" and it has had to try to supply, too much? current, and it has failed, the "Computer" has "Detected" this and has indicated this error code.
Most often when this occurs some or all of the output semiconductors "Blow" and are damaged or destroyed, however "other" things may also be involved.
The very best thing you can do to achieve the lowest down time and the cheapest outcome will be to engage a professional.
Contact the manufacturer and ask for a referral to an authorised repair service center, when it contact here simply first ask for a "Quote" as to prospective costings and go from there.
If one still insist on DIY, then one simply MUST first obtain a service manual, and work through the troubleshooting steps within, also this manual has all the parts numbers needed to obtain replacement parts. Most often board replacement is the only option, if indeed parts can be obtained from 3rd parties.

SOURCE: Jasic 250F Mig, OC light on, now no power, only fan going.

Check the internal fuse. If that is okay, check all connections and check for continuity across the heavy windings. Transformer may have burned open at a power tap. Or the heavy contactor burned out.

I can turn the welder on and it can run all day but when I start welding with in a minute the overheat light will come on and it will stop feading wire. I'm trying to weld on mid temperature.

Have you checked so see if your power cable is the right size?? Is it a 220 or 110? If it is 110 then it will cut off after it gets hot, if it is 220 and the power cord is too small then the machine will be trying to pull more amps than the cord can handle causing it to overheat and shut off.. My husband has been a welder for 20 years.. I'm just passing along what he suggested might be the problem.. Hope this helps!

Craftsman 100ac infinant amp arc welder just stopped working ....the fan still runs. anybody know what's wrong with it????

probably over heated and blew the reset button
100 amp welders have a duty cycle ( time in actual welding use ) of less than 20%
that means for welding for five minutes you have to let it cool down for 20 minutes
the lower the amps the longer you can weld for
beware tat the total amperage of the welder does not mean that you can weld for a long time at that amperage
on the plate on the welder is the duty cycle and you have to be aware of it or the machine will shut down
