I'm a consultant who's been handling a client's infrastructure upgrades over the last couple of years and they have asked for my assistance with feature programming on their Cisco 7940 IP phones. They have dissolved their relationship with the firm that was handling the telecom administration and they are not able to provide any documentation detailing their environment. It's a small environment consisting of about 20 phones. Is there a way to determine how the environment is configured and where to gain "console access" for feature programming?
This phone can be access through a menu/ setting buttons.

I think the main problem is to determine the intergrated router or Call manager configuration
You can also connect on switch and type:show cpd neighbor This will show the physical port connections
